Metric Conversions[edit]

Because D&D comes from the good old USA, all the measurements are in imperial. Because I prefer metric measurements, here are the various changes made (note that the conversions are not extremely exact for the sake of simplicity:

  1. Each square is 1m by 1m on a board. You might need bigger boards, if that's okay.
  2. Movement speed is divided by 3 (30ft =~ 10m. Therefore, a creature with 10m land speed can move 10 squares as a move action. This also eliminates the need for math with movement speed!)
  3. Height, weight, etc., are given in cm and kg, respectively.
  4. Spells, etc., are also converted to metric measurements. If you don't want to bother with this, using metric is probably not a good idea.
