Melee Weapon Attack: -2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 bludgeoning damage. String Shot. Ranged Weapon Attack: +1 to hit, range 15/30 ft., one target. Hit: Until the start of its next turn, the target has disadvantage on attack rolls. Harden. The Metapod gains resistance to bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage from non-magical weapons and a +2 bonus to its AC until the beginning of its next turn.

A single Metapod, [1] Metapods are the pupal evolution of Caterpie. They tend to remain as still as possible in order to preserve energy, which, in conjunction with their green coloration acting as camouflage, can make them difficult to identify. While they are technically able to attack by throwing their body at their opponent, their clumsiness makes survival through harden its armor until its attacker simply gives up far more advantageous. With enough time and growth, a Metapod can hatch from its chrysalis, evolving into a Butterfree.
