A Metallurgist's Tools is a small traveling kit of simple metal testing and refining equipment, such as small burners and handling tools. While this kit is not the most simplest of tools, needing more setup than others, it is fairly simple to travel with and utilize for those who are comfortable with it. Proficiency with a set of artisan's tools lets you add your proficiency bonus to any ability checks you make using the tools in your craft.

Metallurgist's Tools includes a set of gloves and goggles, a pair of tongs, a metal file, a ceramic cup, a set of vials and a small handheld burner.

Your knowledge of metalworking provides you aid when determining the origins of and techniques used in metallic structures, weapons or objects.
- Investigation
When you inspect metals or metallic objects, proficiency with metallurgist’s tools grants additional insight into the composition and creation of the metal present in the area.
- Salvage
By spending 1 minute examining damaged or discarded metal objects, you are able to scavenge scrap metal usable either for smithing or metalwork, such as repairs, tinkering or crafting.
