Particular theme?[edit]

Would we want to stick to the "canvas scroll" tones, or have a more traditional white background? Is it open to more unconventional styles such as light text on a dark background? Should the background still be an image, and if so, from the latest edition or an edition-agnostic image? —Proton[talk] 17:52, 13 May 2015 (MDT)

There are no restrictions. The most important thing is that the skin does not hinder users, but rather help them navigate, access, and use D&D Wiki. Updating the skin to the vector skin is also good so that users who are accustomed to this skin style on wikis throughout the internet feel adept on D&D Wiki too. --Green Dragon (talk) 04:51, 14 May 2015 (MDT)
If you don't receive any entries for an extended period, would just switching to default Vector be out of the question? —Proton[talk] 07:37, 14 May 2015 (MDT)
It can be discussed, but I think that having something which relates to D&D is much better. --Green Dragon (talk) 11:12, 14 May 2015 (MDT)
I've always loved the basic scheme. Maybe more of the tan pages that opened up the 3.5 source- and splatbooks? It has a classic feel and I don't think you should stray too far from the look you have. A skin with light text on a dark background gets visually taxing, and ends up feeling like someone made the site in a hurry (purely my opinion). An exception is for some sort of sci-fi wiki, such as BSG or the Star Trek one. Then a starfield or dark "tech" background could work. I also think that going to a modified "traditional" wiki look (a la wookipedia or the 40k wiki) would take away from the site. This wiki is one of the few that looks and feels different in a good way. Based on that I think, like I said above, that you should stick with what you've got and maybe add some more of the chapter opener backgrounds like you have. --Ixidor (talk) 10:44, 21 July 2015 (MDT)
