Large beast, neutral evil Armor Class 16 (natural armor)
Saving Throws Str +4, Con +4 Ambusher. The bug has advantage on attack rolls against any creature it has surprised. Sneak Attack (1/Turn). The bug deals an extra 7 (2d6) damage when it hits a target with a weapon attack and has advantage on the attack roll, or when the target is within 5 feet of an ally of the bug that isn't incapacitated and the bug doesn't have disadvantage on the attack roll. ACTIONSBite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage, or 7 (2d4 + 2) piercing damage against humanoids. Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) slashing damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 12). Until this grapple ends, the bug can't use its claws on another target. BONUS ACTIONSBug Bite. If the bug is grappling a creature, it makes a bite attack against that creature.

The larval form of the man-eater bug species is known to hunt humans whom it finds alone or in small groups. It waits immobile underground for days at a time between attacks and emerges only long enough to feed. |
