Lyre of the Moon (3.5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Lyre of the Moon: A Lyre carved out of moonstone and strung with the hairs of a Pegasus's Tail. Has an eerie sound, no matter the tune played on this instrument.
This instrument can be found in a sea caves, or in high mountian caves, and absorbs power from natural moonlight. In order to absorb enough energy, it must sit out under the light of a full moon for one night. It will have enough energy to last until the next Full moon. Should the full moon be blocked out, the Lyre will lose it's energy and become a +1 lyre until the next full moon. When fully charged, the lyre gives a +1 bonus to Inspire Courage and Inspire Competence.
When charged with the Full Moon's light, this Lyre gains 6 charges that are able to be spent daily. Once a day, the musician may spend the charges to add either another +1 (two charges) or +2 (three charges) to Inspire Courage only. They may also choose to spend three charges to cast one of the following spells:
- Allegro (You and Allies gain +30ft Speed for 1 minute/level)
- Dissonant Chord (Deal 1d8/2 levels sonic damage in a 10ft burst)
or
- Curse of Impending Blades (Enemies take -2 penalty of AC.)
Once the 6 charges are spent, they cannot be regained until the following full moon.
