Roleplaying the Lyre of Orpheon[edit]

The Lyre was once in possession of the musician Orpheon. When his great love died, he travelled to the afterlife and asked if he could take her back to the land of the living. He played on his harp, and even the Raven Queen herself was impressed. She said: `You are allowed to take her back with you, but don't look backward, or she will remain here forever.' Orpheon took her with him, but wanted to make sure that she was walking along, and looked backward. At that moment, she faded away and he was pushed back to the regular world. He spent his remaining years in sadness, and when he died, his soul became one with his lyre. He now travels from owner to owner, seeking to let no-one experience such sadness as he had. The lyre communicates with his owner in the form of sad, happy or other music, that can only be heard by its owner.

Concordance[edit]

The lyre can be found in every place where music can be heard, lying on the ground. If the person who lifts the lyre of the ground is a bard, this person will learn its name and nature, and the lyre will help him and accompany him or her on his or her quest. If this person is not a bard, the lyre will do nothing, and wait for a worthy person to pick it up.
