This colorful plant coos and twitters a complex song from its esophageal vents, carrying with it a soothing subliminal enchantment. Its strength intensify with the croaking of its eye-like vocal sacs, inhibiting the senses of other creatures and causing total loss of consciousness at closer range. Once its prey is motionless, the lullabile regurgitates a thick, soupy fountain of digestive enzymes and reduces the victim to a soft, damp paste. After planting its taloned roots in these pulpy remains, it will enter an inactive feeding stage that may last many months. |
