Lost or Found[edit]

After a short rest, roll 4d20 and record the results. If one of the rolls is nine or under, the DM writes it down; if it's ten or over, the player writes it down. At any point during gameplay, a player can use their recorded result to gain a perfect sense of direction for the next hour. While this effect is active, you have advantage on checks to find hidden objects, locate/track, navigate through mazes, and any other tasks where your keen senses would be beneficial (you can't get lost while using this ability).

Conversely, the DM can use their recorded result at any time. When they do, the targeted player has a terrible sense of direction for 1 hour. While this effect is active, the player has disadvantage on checks to find hidden objects/secrets, locate/track, and navigate in any way. They may even get lost in simple, straight pathways.

If both the DM and the player attempt to use their recorded results during the same hour, the effects cancel each other out for the duration.
