Innate Spellcasting. The monk's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 12). The monk can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

2/day each: blink strike, storm shield

Resilience. If damage reduces the monk to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is from a critical hit. On a success, the monk drops to 1 hit point instead.

ACTIONS

Quarterstaff. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) bludgeoning damage or 6 (1d8 + 2) bludgeoning damage if used with two hands.

Thunder Strike (Recharge 6). The monk makes one weapon attack. On a hit, the attack deals an additional 9 (2d8) thunder damage and the target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be pushed 15 feet away from the monk.

REACTIONS

Parry. The monk adds 3 to its AC against one melee attack that would hit it. To do so, the monk must see the attacker and be wielding a melee weapon.

It is said that the temple of Raiden serves as a hidden monastery and training ground for those seeking to master themselves and the element of lightning. The disciples of Raiden who have been granted access to this sanctuary protect it fiercely with the elemental skills they have obtained.

Mercy Unlike many throughout the realms, instead of finishing their opponents with a violent final blow, these monks are devoted to the practice of showing mercy to those who have been defeated. In combat, their attacks and thunderstrikes are designed to beat back opponents and maintain distance, encouraging the enemy to retreat instead of continue fighting to the death.
