Lethifold (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Lethifold[edit]
"We are unique in that we were blessed. From the moment we received our True Forms in a certain Palace, our soul were linked, and a newfound Lineage was Formed." - Unknown
Physical Description[edit]
Lethifolds have two forms, a Humanoid Form and their True Form. Their Humanoid form allows them to Blend in within the common populous, but in this form they still keep their Red eyes and black Hair. Their True Form however is revealed when they are Feeding or during Intense Combat. Their True Form has half of their face obscured by a black, shadowy mass with red veins flowing across their head and hands. While the other half will appear as their humanoid Form with Glowing red eyes. Their True Form always maintains a wide red grin, if a Lethifold becomes exceptionally powerful their true form will completely obscure them.
History[edit]
Lethifolds are a Race that were assumed to be created through a ritual a Long time ago. Many researchers believe that the ritual only created the first of their kind and because of it's appearance many thought it was the true form of a vampire. With what information has been gathered, it's been assumed that during its early life it called itself Abadeer and many treated it as they would a vampire but in truth while it had a similar appearance to vampire, what set it apart from them was their need to feed off of Fear and it's ability to Transform. Since it later discovered that it's physical appearance was influenced due to the surge of vampires at the time, many assumed that they shared similar weaknesses.
From what has been found out, In its mid to late life it had created a lair for itself from an abandoned kingdom and reenforced his lair with the material around the main Palace and as time passed by and the land around his lair changed into a deep forest, many never forgot about it's existence and throughout the centuries many have gone to its palace and tried to slay or banish it and while many did die in their attempts a few left changed. Many have theorized that they were gifted with a monstrous blessing that changed them forever. Many compared them to vampires due to their new found need to feed off of fear, but that thought quickly changed when it was confirmed that they shared no similar weaknesses.
Nowadays many Lethifolds exist hidden among the populous as Nobles or working as Private Soldiers, Mercenaries and even Executioners. Not much is currently known about them besides stories and legends.
Society[edit]
Due to their rarity, being cast across the World, and Most of them becoming feral beasts due to Starvation, they tend to keep to themselves in small communities in which they can hide amongst and feed without raising suspension. They often enjoy living in crowded towns, cities, and villages due to the ample prey, humanoid and animal alike. Some tend to either hide away in sewers, alleys, and abandoned buildings, ashamed of their Linage or live among small villages by pretending to be regular citizen.
