Lasso (5e Equipment)
LassoMartial Ranged Weapons
A simple but effective tool for catching and restraining foes, the lasso is favored by many ranchers and bounty hunters. Special. You can use a lasso to make a ranged weapon attack against a creature that is no more than one size larger than you. On a hit, the creature becomes tethered to you by the lasso as long as you hold it. On its turn, a tethered creature can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (the target chooses the ability to use) check contested by your Strength (Athletics) check to free itself, either by slipping the lasso or pulling it out of your hands. Additionally, while the creature is tethered, you can use an action to attempt to reel in the lasso and pull the creature closer to you. You make a Strength (Athletics) check contested by the creature’s Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (the target chooses the ability to use). If the creature fails the check, you pull the creature up to your Strength score in feet toward you. If the creature succeeds the check, it remains in place. Dealing 5 slashing damage to the lasso (AC 13) also frees the creature without harming it, ending the effect and destroying the rope. See AlsoBack to Main Page → 5e Homebrew → Equipment → Weapons |
