Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 120 feet |
Components: | V, S, M |
Duration: | Instantaneous |
You take part of the power of shadowfell and create 2 spheres of black fire that will incinerate your enemies. Make a ranged spell attack for each sphere. On a hit, the target takes 4d8+ your spellcasting modifier of necrotic damage. On an impact, Each creature in a 5-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Constitution saving throw, the targeted creature has disadvantage on the saving throw. A target takes 2d8 necrotic damage on a failed save and ignite in black flames, or half as much damage on a successful one and not be ignited.
for one minute, at the start of each of the ignited creature's turn, it must make a Constitution saving throw or take 2d8 necrotic damage on a failed save, on a successful one take half the damage. this fire cannot be put out by any non-magical means. As an action, a spellcaster can check using its spellcasting modifier against your save DC to put out the fire. on a success, the fire goes out. on a failure, nothing happens and the creature is still ignited.
At Higher Levels. At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4rd level or higher you create additional spheres for each level higher of spell slot used.
Suggestion for DM: discovery tip for DMs: This spell is a bit more powerful than usual, and I personally suggest that it can only be discovered in a lost dungeon tome or similar. lakyus was a necromancer, who cheated death on more than one occasion with the aim of finding the ultimate necromancy.
