Kamodean (4e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Kamodean[edit]
Kamodeans are a powerful tribal race of upright Monitor Lizards. Rarely seen outside of their small archipelago home ranges. Kamodeans favor classes that fill the striker role. If you want to be an intimidating creature yet still be able to tactfully interact with other races with a degree of intelligence, Kamodeans are a clear choice

Although tribal by nature, Kamodeans show a level of culture and intelligence comparable to city dwelling races. Electing to maintain a more primitive existence out of ancestral respect, Kamodeans are skilled foragers and excellent swimmers. Large as well as powerful, Kamodeans may intimidate most who meet them, yet an intriguing intellect is usually hidden just beneath the surface.

Physical Qualities[edit]
Huge and powerful, Kamodeans walk on the line of good and evil. They resemble anthropomorphic komodo dragons with unique markings delineating their tribal associations and, eventually, their status in life. Judgmental by nature, Kamodeans feel a strong urge to enact justice or vengeance upon opponents. Kamodeans range in coloration from black and yellow marbling to solid colors as juveniles. Throughout their lives, patterns begin to develop on the skin making the eldest Kamodeans the most elaborate and beautiful. These can take the form of unique designs and even color mixtures.
Playing a Kamodean[edit]
Playing a Kamodean allows players to have a freedom of choice. Individuality is a key prospect of Kamodean culture so no two are alike. Kamodeans claim to be very distantly related to the original dragons of the world although no proof exists of this. Kamodeans live harmoniously alongside their Chameleods nieghbors and often the two live cooperatively in a tribal alliance. Komadeans and Chameleods are also constantly at war with the Crocodilians to the south. As a tribal society, loyalty lies at the top of Kamodean ethics; violate a Kamodean's trust and there is no forgiveness. Kamodeans who stray from tribal laws are branded and exiled from the Islands and thrown out into the world on their own.

Kamodean Adventurers[edit]
Three sample Kamodean adventurers are described below.
Lur is a Kamodean Fighter. He was a Prince back in the Kamodia Isles before a Dispute with the Tribe elders forced him to abandon the tribe. With a sword and shield he was never bested back in his homeland, yet this has made him arrogant. Lur carries with him his mothers shark-tooth anklet which he treasures dearly. should he have this trinket stolen from him, he will do anything he can to retrieve it.
Kasmuut Is a Kamodean Shaman. Venturing out of the homeland in search of new magics to return to the tribes, Kasmuut is always seeking knowledge. Kasmuut is at the age of 58 and accordingly bears a skin of brilliant reds, violets and yellows, which often makes him a target for bandits and peddlers seeking to profit from his skin. This has led Kasmuut to distrust many of the mortal races he encounters however he has a weakness for objects of magical influence. When Kasmuut discovers an object of magical intrigue, he loses focus of what is around him and exposes weekness.
Vishala is a Kamodean Rogue. She is young and very boisterous of her pick-pocketing abilities as she is very sneaky for someone so large. Very beautiful back on the isles, Vishala left an arranged marriage for adventure in the hopes of finding riches and glory. Vishala is also somewhat of a flirt and loses herself in the presence of handsome men. She someday hopes to establish a trading post where she will have no problems unloading her less than honest goods.
