Kalatl[edit]

Alignment. Chaotic Good
Domains. Arcana, Knowledge, Trickery
Divine Rank. Greater Deity

Kalatl is a lich god of spellweaving and magic, and was once a changeling sorcerer who walked the earth. He is, or shows himself to be(?), a six foot tall humanoid with a robe of brightly coloured feather. He wears a red mask with two angled eye holes with golden spirals painted in, and yet there is no mouth present on the mouth it could be inferred that he is smiling. The mask is finished with a plume of feathers. He has no right arm, and wields a large crystalline staff. He speaks in third person and has a tendency to end sentences with either "Yes?" or "No?"

Kalatl became a god through exploitation of the arcane. Constantly, he would use wish to become more powerful through indirect means. He would craft spells from nothingness to raise mountains and to sing into existence pocket dimensions. He would use his magic in a childish manner yet his grip on the arcane arts would be everpresent. The most famous accounting of an exploitation is whereupon he wished into existence fifty clones of him five seconds in the past, meaning they had the capacity to cast wish again, and that they would be under his complete command. Kalatl slaughtered these clones and then combined his soul with theirs, becoming fifty times more powerful. Through this Kalatl gained the means to cast as many spells as he wanted, typically, and also came upon the fact that he now had fifty right arms. This tale is often told from a bard due to its humorous nature.

Kalatl, albeit often silly, holds a great admiration for knowledge and the conservation of past teachings. Due to this, when a cleric uses Divination or by some other means sees Kalatl's province, they will observe an infinitely tall grand library lit by teal flickering candlelight. Kalatl can often be observed bounding off floating bookcase to bookcase, or reading an arcane tome. Followers of Kalatl are invited into this domain by letter, and many spend a large portion of their lives there.

Kalatl, when describing himself, is a protector of magic. He often brings divine intervention in dire times when they involve magic, and he believes that people should be responsible with their power- he is mischievous with magic so other people don't have to be.

Kalatl's few followers are taught to be empathetic and respectful of boundaries, while also not stepping down from adversities, no matter how powerful they are, as long as they have hope. People may begin to be followers of Kalatl when they see the spells he has crafted, by hearing of tales of his exploits, or sometimes by seeing him as he is known to typically wander the material plane, as "he gets motion sick".
