Kador Bestiary (Kador Supplement)

Monsters[edit]
Official Creatures[edit]
- Some of the Great Flame that destroyed Kador in ancient times is still alive, having coalesced into fiery beings bent on destruction called flamewalkers. You can represent these monsters with the fire elemental statistics. Weaker flamewalkers could be represented with the magma mephit statistics, while more powerful ones could be represented as efreet. Some especially powerful flamewalkers could be represented as red dragons with the elemental type. All flamewalkers resist bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical attacks, can deal only fire damage with their attacks, and have the following traits instead of their preexisting ones, except for Legendary Resistance.
Death Burst. When the flamewalker dies, it explodes in a burst of fire. Each creature within 5 feet (10 feet for flamewalkers with a CR of 5 or higher) of it must make a DC (8 + the flamewalker's proficiency bonus + the flamewalker's Constitution modifier) Dexterity saving throw, taking 7 (2d6) fire damage on a failed save (14 (4d6) fire damage for flamewalkers with a CR of 5 or higher; or 21 (6d6) fire damage for flamewalkers with a CR of 10 or higher), or half as much damage on a successful one.
Fire Form. The flamewalker can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. A creature that touches the flamewalker or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 5 (1d10) fire damage. In addition, the flamewalker can enter a hostile creature's space and stop there. The first time it enters a creature's space on a turn, that creature takes 5 (1d10) fire damage and catches fire, until someone takes an action to douse the fire, the creature takes 5 (1d10) fire damage at the start of each of its turns.
Illumination. The flamewalker sheds bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet.
Homebrew Creatures[edit]
- Zarikytonic creatures are common in Kador.
- The most common celestials in Kador are foo animals, usually called "celestial animals" by common folk.
Variants[edit]
- The weak connections between Kador and the other planes mean that celestials, elementals, and fiends often appear in weaker forms. For example, a barbed devil might have the physical appearance, Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores and action options of a hell hound, but it retains its alignment, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores, and any skills, saving throw bonuses, and special traits.
