Juggernaut[edit]

"Watch out! The enemy has a-!" Last words of a military commander who had an encounter with an enemy Juggernaut

Juggernauts are ancient weapons of war created by an unknown artificer/wizard with extreme mechanical and magical knowledge. Unstoppable beasts, Juggernauts are forces of nature and are nearly as impossible to control. They do what they want, and if they don't like your views, well. . . they automatically have the most valid opinion.

Physical Description[edit]

Juggernauts are large metal golems that resemble a human only in their body plans. Otherwise they are nearly twice as wide as a human and in some cases twice as tall. They are usually made of steel or iron, with slots in the head for optic sensors that very in color from red to deep shades of green to purple. They have strange runes marked on the inside of their torso plates, indecipherable and strangely mechanical looking. Some of them have patterns eatched onto their outer armor plats, resembling damascus steel.

History[edit]

Their history is unknown. They were found guarding ancient ruins, deep underground, further down than even the dwarves have gone.

Attitudes and Beliefs[edit]

Juggernauts have no society, They tend to avoid other juggernauts, but their reasonings are unknown. They work for whoever pays the most nowadays and due to their strength and intimidating appearance, the enemy usually surrenders upon sighting one.

Juggernaut Names[edit]

As in real life with robots and electronics, they are designated with a serial number, and there are no female or males. Starting from A-000 and so far ranging up to DEZ-09870, the As being the sort of most influential or powerful and the DEZ series being viewed as less powerful. No matter what, they will respond to their serial numbers, but if you choose to give them a nickname, they may not always answer you.

Juggernaut Traits[edit]

A mechanical race of strong and sturdy robots designed for siege warfare and clearing trenches.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength scores increase by 1 and Constitution scores increase by 2.
Age. As constructs they are immortal, but despite this they still need maintenance every 5 years or so to prevent degradation of the servos and gears that help them run. They have a core that if shattered, will explode and kill the Juggernaut.
Alignment. They believe in no gods and are usually true neutral, though depending on the company they keep and who they work with, it can change to Lawful of Chaotic. There are few evil or good Juggernauts.
Size. Your size ranges from 6 feet to 8 feet. and generally weigh over 400 lbs. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base speed is 40 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Artificial. Your creature type is construct instead of humanoid. As such, spells like cure wounds don't affect you, and you are immune to spells like crown of madness or dominate person because they specifically target humanoids. You are immune to poison damage, diseases and being poisoned. You do not need to eat, drink, or breathe, and you cannot consume sustenance the way other creatures do. Rather than sleeping, you enter an inactive state of thought for 6 hours each day. You do not dream in this state; you are fully aware of your surroundings and notice approaching enemies and other events as normal.
Natural Armor. Your ac is equal to 14 + your constitution modifier, but other creatures have advantage on Perception checks to detect you that involve hearing or sight.
Broad Frame. Due to your large frame, you cannot wear armor, as it is not designed for you. Shields still apply a bonus to ac, but the bonus is half. Magical armor cannot be worn by you (as it is still armor) and items cannot raise your ac above 25. Spells that raise ac get disadvantage when targeting you.
Pack Mule. For determining whether gear or equipment slows you down, determining carry capacity or lifting/dragging objects (i.e. raising them above your head), you count as three size categories larger.
Proficiencies. You are proficient with all simple and martial weapons. Treat any weapon with the Finesse ability as though it didn't have Finesse. Instead of using Dexterity for proficiency, you may use Strength (Only when determining proficiency with weapons and shields).
Self Destruct. You may use this ability to detonate the core that resides in your chest. Anything in a 40 foot sphere must roll a dexterity Saving Throw with a DC of 25 or suffer 8d8 slashing and 4d8 bludgeoning as pieces of your metal shell and core are launched outwards. This kills the character immediately. It is possible to repair the character, but it requires the wish spell. This ability automatically activates if you fail your three death saving throws. All related rules regarding death saving throws still apply to Juggernauts.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
