Physical Description[edit]

Although Januaries have the same structure as most humanoids, they have several features that make them stand out. They have naturally pallid skin colors, and a long tail with a pointed end that they do not use for combat. Similar to Jaanavar Jals, they have large, plate-like teeth that they use to bite into rocks. An interesting trait that Januaries possess is their breath, which spews forth a cloud of fine dust that irritates the lungs and eyes of those who breathe it in.

History[edit]

Januaries were first created by an entity they know of as Dedan. Januaries revere this entity as a deity and describe him as tall, wearing a trenchcoat, teeth taking up the majority of his face, and a perpetually enraged nature. During this time, they lived in what they called 'smoke mines', which they described as constantly being raided by entities they called 'Elsen'. Though, from what they say, it's clear that these Elsen were actually trying to do some sort of job that the Januaries took out of context and mistook for raids. At some point, they say that their 'world turned white', causing their world to be shattered, scattering its inhabitants across the multiverse.

Society[edit]

Solitary and aggressive by nature, Januaries are not willing to interact with other races unless the need calls for it or in the case of a dire emergency. They break from this behavior and only form groups with other Januaries between Flamerule and Marpenoth, usually to mate. During this time, they form groups of three to four, which are actually harems presided over by a male. These groups disperse mid-Marpenoth, and the females raise their young until maturity.

January Names[edit]

January names are usually very short, being only one to two syllables long. The names of Januaries that live in and around human settlements are usually Common.
