Invisibility Detection (5e Variant Rule)
From D&D Wiki
Invisibility Detection[edit]
Invisibility is not a difficult feat to pull off for most mages of any report. However, it is difficult to completely and flawlessly hide a creature, and quite impossible to make the whole body invisible if you wish to still see: the very pinprick at the centre of the eyes must remain visible if the caster wishes to see. Those with keen eyes themselves might just be able to spot such imperfections in these spells, leading to the caster being discovered.
- Invisibility Blindness
Any creature under the effect of an invisibility spell is considered Blinded unless they leave tiny specs in at least one eye to see from. If only one eye is left open, all perception checks (and any other checks) that rely on sight are made at disadvantage and the Invisibility Detection DC is also increased by 5.
- Invisibility Detection Checks
Any creature who can see may attempt to locate an invisible creature. The creature attempting to find an invisible creature must make a Wisdom(Perception) check. The check automatically fails if there are no invisible creatures within 30 feet. The DC of the check is considered individually for each invisible creature within this radius. The DC for a given creature is equal to the invisibility spell's level x the spellcasting modifier of the spell's caster.
