Hiyori (5e Equipment)

Weapon (scimitar), legendary (requires attunement)

Hiyori is a razor sharp saber that has a frosty white tint to her silver blade. From her blade, an aura of cold radiates, frosting her blade further as well as where her blade meets her sheath. On her blade, near the guard, is engraved a flower and her guard depicts a snowflake with sapphires inlaid around the perimeter. Her wrap is a sleek white silk. This magic weapon has a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls. Attacks with Hiyori also deal an additional 1d10 cold damage.

Heart of Ice. While you are holding Hiyori, you can use your action to fire jagged shards of ice in a 30-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 3d6 cold damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one. You must wait one hour before you can use this attack again.
Sentience. Hiyori is a sentient chaotic neutral weapon with an Intelligence of 18 (+4), a Wisdom of 16 (+3), and a Charisma of 12 (+1). She has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet.
The weapon can speak, read, and understand Common, Draconic, Elvish, and Gnomish, and can communicate with its wielder telepathically. While you are attuned to it, Hiyori also understands every language you know.
Personality. Hiyori likes to be very picky about who wields her, preferring users of wind or ice magic or who are skilled in melee combat. Hiyori prefers to have well-kept wielders and dislikes those who dirty her blade. Hiyori thinks herself a noble blade and that she should be treated as such. Conflict arises if the wielder ignores Hiyori's pleas to keep her clean or if the wielder does not act elegantly to others and Hiyori.
