Theous: 1st Civilization Calendar[edit]

1st Year – The Creation[edit]

The gods of the Upper Plains created the world of Theous as a testing ground for magic and magical creatures.

30th Year – Birth of Sentience[edit]

The gods created the first sentient races of the world.

500th Year – The Three Kingdoms Rise[edit]

Three major kingdoms were established:

  • The Land of Man – Believing humans were destined to rule the world. Their ideology, rooted in human supremacy, came from their patron deity, Zeus. They routinely conducted brutal “monster hunts” against nonhuman races.
  • The Rantel Kingdom – The largest and most advanced, located centrally. It supported self-determination and was more tolerant toward other races.
  • The San Marino Kingdom – Once part of Rantel, it seceded due to ideological differences, advocating peace and coexistence. A prophecy foretold Rantel’s fall at the hands of its own heir.

600th Year – Rise of the Ancients[edit]

  • The Dwarven Kingdom of Makahm and the Elven Kingdom of Shakadi were founded.
  • The Divine Representatives began to appear in the world—mortals touched by gods.

700th Year – Fall of the Land of Man[edit]

The Land of Man was destroyed by Suzaku, a dragon blessed with divine power by Zeus himself. Having lost his family to a monster hunt, Suzaku annihilated the kingdom. The ruined land became known as the Land of Dragons, a sanctuary for non-humanoids.

750th Year – The Gods Intervene[edit]

Angered by Zeus’s actions, the other gods began selecting their own Divine Representatives. Each received a magical, unremovable necklace symbolizing their divine pact.

  • The more a mortal devoted themselves to their god, the more power they received.
  • This marked the beginning of the Age of Divine Representatives.

788th Year – The First Age of Heroes[edit]

The first legendary party was formed: Moon, Capricus, Chad, and Arkon.

  • Their mission was to stop Suzaku from ascending into a Great Wyrm.
  • After 20 years, Suzaku succeeded in becoming a godlike dragon and nearly destroyed the world.
  • At the brink of defeat, Moon used a Wish spell to rewind time to the day they first met—retaining all knowledge and powers.

Canonically, Suzaku was defeated the day the party formed. The threat was erased, and the world never knew it had been real.

  • Thus, on the day it began, the story also ended—for a party of heroes lost to time.

828th Year – The Collapse of Theous[edit]

  • Gods from other realms entered the "game" and empowered humans with overwhelmingly destructive artifacts.
  • A global war broke out between kingdoms.
  • A king forged a forbidden pact with both a devil and a god, opening a portal that unleashed a demonic invasion.
  • Civilization collapsed. Humanity neared extinction.
  • The gods, disappointed and defeated, abandoned Theous.

End of the 1st Civilization[edit]

Theous was left in ruin. The age of divine rule and magical supremacy had failed. What remained was a world scarred by betrayal, divine war, and the arrogance of mortals.
