Heartless[edit]

A group of adventurers walk though a forest in the dead of night. Screaming is heard in the distance. Naturally, the adventurers run to see what the commotion is. Upon arrival, a lone man is backed into a corner by a strange, pitch black, fiend. The creature turns around and stares down the adventures. It's eyes empty of emotion, and seeing little more than prey. The creature stands up, with it's posture showing a feral nature.

Physical Description[edit]

Heartless do not have a single definitive shape and size, and tend to come in a wide variety of different forms. The majority of them tend to look like a strange abomination or something that vaguely resembles a different kind of creature while still being indistinguishable. The very few that retain some form of intelligence however tend to resemble a more humanoid form. The pureblood heartless stand to have pitch-black bodies, and shamble about in feral stances, and their eyes tend to be solid, with no visible pupils, and in some cases are an unsettling color and shade of it. The artificial heartless have much more variety in their appearances, but they tend to bear a the mark of the heartless upon their body.

History[edit]

No one is entirely sure of where the heartless The heartless are born in one of 2 ways. One way is spawned from the darkness when one loses their heart/soul to the darkness itself, which are called pure heartless. The heartless will then go far and wide, mindlessly feeding in the hearts of people, and if you get your heart eaten by a heartless, you become one yourself. Heartless born this way are known as artificial heartless. While it is possible to return a heartless back to normal by returning it's heart/soul to it, doing so is known to be exceedingly difficult. The most noticeable difference between pure and artificial heartless is that Artificial heartless tend to bear the mark of the Heartless somewhere on their body. They are also more likely to retain some form of intelligence.

Attitudes and Beliefs[edit]

Heartless are usually feral. They typically see power above all else and follow the strongest. It is rare that heartless keep some level of sentience, but when they do, they typically act with little to no empathy. Acting on either impulse or in the name of whatever their goals are. They do not have problem working with other beings as long as it benefits them to some regard.

Heartless Names[edit]

Heartless typically either keep their names from their previous lives, or simply make a new name that seems dark in some way. In some cases heartless copy the names of someone close to them.
