He Who Fights Monsters (5e Feat)

Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: While it's a cool idea, there's a reason 5e doesn't have any feature-stealing features. Consider a 1st level human fighter picking up shadow's Strength Drain (which can easily kill a low-Strength creature in 2 rounds) or a will-o'-wisp's Incorporeal Movement (effectively becoming invincible so long as there's a wall to walk through), or both.

He Who Fights Monsters

When you kill a monster, you can make an Intelligence saving throw with a DC of 10 + the monster's CR. On a success you permanently gain one feature or action the monster possesses for use yourself. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus although you can forget a feature or action you've learned over the course of a long rest if you don't have any remaining.
