Grummite[edit]

"You know, my friend, the combat capabilities of grummites is truly impressive. I've seen them make all sorts of things, crude, yes, but still shields, cleavers, even bow and arrows, and they sure do make use of those shields, I've lost many good men to those frogs." -Fizzlebrink the curious

Physical Description[edit]

Grummites are frog like green skinned humanoids. Their stature and build can be quite varying, anywhere from a mere 4 feet to an impressive 6 and a half, some are strong and massive others small and scrawny, but most have rather thin limbs and a thick large torso, with a bit of rib showing, with no distinguishable difference between males and females. Their spine on their back is very prominent and can be seen from their neck to their small stubby little tail, they possess an average of three thin and spindly, but sturdy spines on their back, some are strong and stand straight no matter what, others small and short protruding from the side of their spine rather than straight up. Their Eyes are almost always solid yellow, but slight color variation is not entirely unheard of. Their mouth is almost bowl-like with their sharp little teeth poking out the bottom.Their skin is light greenish yellow to deep, swampy green and anywhere in between. Their hands and feet and fairly normal with three thin fingers, a thumb, a strange foot protrusion at the heel, three toes, per foot and hand of course, and webs on them all.

Now the life cycle, grummites are amphibious, as such they lay eggs, which the female secretes a sticky glue like substance which they use to cluster the eggs to the bottom of a tree branch or cliff near a lake, then the eggs hatch into pollywogs, a creature no bigger than a human hand, and in a desperate race for survival they rush for any body of water they can find. They quickly, after a few weeks, sprout limbs, and become bolliwogs. Depending on how long they take to grow, they may remain in this state for 1-2 years where they will race for a lake, where they will dig into the mud and hibernate for months until it gestates into a grummite and reaches it's full size. After this they arise from the mud and into the water with other grummites, this segment is short lived, because it is absolutely overcome with their urge to mate, for the females they mate once, lay their eggs and then leave and live their lives in a grummite hole or old cave. The males have this irresistible mating urge for 6 months - to a year, afterwards they go and live their lives.

History[edit]

The history of grummites is a short one, due to lack of knowledge, rather than that of longevity. Being a primitive bunch they do not have records so the only records of them are taken by other races, who can be quite cruel in their descriptions. They are mostly described as being nothing more than stupid, savage beasts, most often described as worse than goblins even so pathetic as to be incapable of integrating into civilized society, this is of course not true. Some theorize they are one of the most ancient of all races, others that they have some sort of super complex society hidden away.

Society[edit]

Grummite society is a rather simple tribal system. The highest of them is the shaman and the chief, the shaman or shamans are any Grummite who has learned to use magic, it does not matter what kind, any magic makes them a shaman, the chief is the strongest warrior. After that are the craftsman, they make clothes armor, weapons, jewelry, and clothing out of anything from basic ores to rocks and shells. Those under them are sorted by combat efficiency with no actual influence by gender. The last is those with no combat efficiency, their soul purpose is getting food, materials, anything no one else wants or needs to do. Occasionally some Grummites get tired of this simple existence and break off from the hive, to join any society who will take them.

Grummite Names[edit]
