Forest Camouflage. The grippli has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in forests, woodlands, or other terrain of abundant foliage.

Hold Breath. The grippli can hold her breath for 30 minutes.

Spellcasting. The grippli is a 1st-level spellcaster. Her spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 13, +5 to hit with spell attacks). The grippli has following druid spells prepared:

Cantrips (at will): druidcraft, poison spray
1st level (2 slots): animal friendship, cure wounds

Standing Leap. The grippli's long jump is up to 20 feet and her high jump is up to 10 feet, with or without a running start.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The grippli makes one attack with her tongue. If that attack hits, the grippli can make one trident attack against the same target.

Tongue. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one Medium or smaller creature. Hit: The target is grappled (escape DC 12). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the grippli can't use her tongue on another creature.

Trident. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) piercing damage, or 5 (1d8 + 1) piercing damage if used with two hands to make a melee attack, plus 2 (1d4) piercing damage if the grippli had advantage on the attack roll.

Grippli Pheromones (1/Day). The grippli exhales a cloud of gas in a 15-foot cone. The cone spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured. It lasts for 1 minute or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it.
Each creature that is completely within the cloud at the start of its turn must make a Constitution saving throw against poison. On a failed save, the creature spends its action that turn retching and reeling.
Grippli, grungs, and bullywugs, as well as creatures that don't need to breathe or are immune to poison automatically succeed on this saving throw.

A grippli tribe mother leads the tens of grippli in her village in official and religious matters as the oldest and largest female among them. A tribe mother is typically followed by multiple grippli warriors, who act as both her mates and retainers. Writing is a key religious duty of a tribe mother, literacy among all other grippli is effectively forbidden.

Variant: Grippli Psion

A particularly large grippli village, typically one with a population of sixty or higher, a single grippli might be born with psionic power, a notably higher rate of psionic talent than most other humanoids. These grippli psions typically serve their tribe mother as her champion and proxy. A grippli psion loses its spellcasting and Grippli Pheromones action and can't speak Druidic, and it gains the following feature:

Spellcasting. The grippli is a 1st-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 10, +2 to hit with spell attacks). The grippli knows the following sorcerer spells:

Cantrips (at will): create bonfire, friends, light, mage hand
1st level (2 slots): comprehend languages, sleep

The grippli psion has the following action option:

Shortbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage, plus 5 (2d4) psychic damage.

The grippli psion has the following bonus action option:

Telepathic Speech. The grippli chooses one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. The grippli and the chosen creature can speak telepathically with each other while the two are within 1 mile of each other. To understand each other, a creature must speak mentally in a language the other knows. This lasts for 1 minute, and ends early if either creature is incapacitated or dies, or if the grippli uses this ability to form a connection with a different creature.
