Grim Reaper's Scythe (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (scythe), Legendary (Requires attunement) The Grim Reaper's Scythe appears to be an ancient farming implement. The handle is blackened with age, and the blade is an unpolished steel. It is said it will suck the souls of its victims and was once wielded by the Grim Reaper herself. This weapon deals an additional 1d6 necrotic damage on a successful hit. As a bonus action, you may gain temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt with one attack. These hit points do not stack, but you may replace your current temporary hit points with new ones. The attuned creature will lose these hit points if they are not attuned to the Grim Reaper's Scythe. When you reduce a hostile creature to zero hit points, you may add their soul to a pool in the scythe. The max amount of souls the scythe can contain is 10. If a soul is absorbed this way, one or more souls may later be expended to add an additional 1d6 necrotic to the next hit. During a short rest, you may expend one or more souls to heal yourself 1d6. The souls remain within the scythe until they are used, but are released if the scythe is destroyed. The soul cannot find rest as long as it remains in the scythe. Curse of Binding: Once attuned to this weapon, it will remain attuned to you until you are targeted by the remove curse spell. |
