Smoke Grenade Uncommon 1/2 lb. Special, thrown (range 20/60)

Smoke grenades contain smoke filler, typically white or black, encased in a sheet steel cylinder with emission holes. They are non-explosive, non-lethal devices primarily used to create smokescreens on the battlefield for concealment or signaling purposes.

As an action, you can throw a smoke grenade at a point up to 60 feet away. Once it lands, it emits a cloud of smoke that creates a lightly obscured area in a 10-foot-radius for 1 minute. After 1 round, it becomes a heavily obscured area in a 20-foot-radius. The smoke spreads around corners. A moderate wind (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses the smoke in 4 rounds; a strong wind (20 or more miles per hour) disperses it in 1 round.

Bursting Variant

The bursting variant of the smoke grenade uses an internal charge to disperse smoke almost instantaneously. Smoke from this variant immediately creates a heavily obscured area in a 20-foot-radius, but lasts only 5 rounds.
