Graveler[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

Graveler are, broadly put, stone creatures. They resemble a bipedal boulder with two pairs of arms and are usually seen normally jumping off cliffs to show that they are more powerful than their rivals. Due to their stone bodies, they are tough but not invulnerable, and often get injured in these theatrics. Due to how short their legs are, graveler can only walk slowly and awkwardly. They usually prefer to roll themselves down inclines instead, as this is faster. They are easily belligerent and never afraid to beat up someone that accidentally steps on them along a mountain trail. Of their two pairs of arms, one is longer and more useful. The secondary pair is rarely used for little more than holding something close.

History[edit]

Since they are made of rock and tend to stay still as a defense mechanism, only attacking if seriously threatened, not much is known about these elusive creatures. As for history, we know they did throughout history followed major cataclysms, such as a volcano erupting or an earthquake that wrecks a city. Some think that these catastrophes go ahead of groups of graveler, while others think that they are there to attempt to mitigate the damage or help build back up. No one knows for sure because the towns that graveler help don't talk about their stony helpers.

Society[edit]

Graveler are violent creatures, always proving they are better than their rivals, always fighting with each other. If you cross one, you will never be able to calm it down until it kills you or if you do something huge to apologize to them. Some of them are more forgiving than others, and as such are viewed as weak, unfit for things like leadership or combat, and they are often at the bottom of the society's food chain.

Graveler Names[edit]

Graveler have no gender, for the most part. Many of them may PERCIEVE themselves as one gender or the other based on what they've seen in other races, but most of the time they are simply referred to as "they", unless they specifically request to be treated male or female. They take names based off of nothing really, just whatever they want to be called. For some graveler, that means that they jump from name to name.

Graveler Traits[edit]

A rocky pokemon known to have a rotund shape and multiple limbs
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Strength score increases by 1. As normal, you cannot use this trait to exceed your ability score past 20.
Age. Being elementals, graveler are mature at a very young age and don't die until they are destroyed.
Alignment. As they are warriors of the earth, they lean more towards the neutral side of things.
Size. Graveler normally don't get much taller than 3 feet tall. Your size is Small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 20 feet.
Stoneborn. You are a sentient lump of stone. Your creature type is elemental instead of humanoid. As such, you are immune to spells like crown of madness or dominate person because they specifically target humanoids. You also have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance against poison damage.
Harden. You can harden your tough, stone-like body in reaction to being attacked to reduce damage. When you take either bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled and reduce the damage by that total. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Trance. Due to your elemental nature, you do not need to sleep like a human does. Instead, you enter a state of unresponsiveness for 4 hours, your body resting itself and healing itself. After this period is over, you gain the same benefits as a human sleeping for 8 hours.
Earthen Skin. Due to your elemental body, you are completely made of stone. Therefore, your armor class cannot be lower than 15.
Four Arms. You have two pairs of arms, one that can actually extend and another smaller pair that keeps close to your core. Your smaller pair of arms are too short to effectively wield weapons or shields. However, you can use them to hold items while your longer pair of arms are occupied, as well as manipulate items like opening jars.
Rock-Like Appearance. As a creature that constantly hides among other rocks, you look like a rock. While you remain motionless, you are indistinguishable from a normal boulder or similarly sized rock.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Terran.
