Gourmet Hunter Superhuman Touch Techniques (5e Other)
From D&D Wiki
Hair Feelers[edit]
Prerequisite: 3rd level, Superhuman Touch
- 5 Appetite Energy per round/5 Appetite Energy Every ten minutes outside of combat.
You can use your hair to survey an area that you must Concentrate on for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes you will uncover secrets of the environment or man-made hidden paths within a 100ft radius.
In combat, they can be activated as an action and will allow you to become aware of any living creature, object, or structure within 30ft of you that isn't hidden, and a hidden creature must immediately make a dexterity (Stealth) check against your passive perception or be spotted. You learn the creature's size and can learn its exact location relative to you. You will be considered concentrating while using this technique, and by continuously concentrating on this technique, you expand its radius by 30ft at the start of each of your turns, further increasing it by 30ft per instance up to a maximum of 300ft. If your feelers are attacked while surveying, they will immediately retract. The Gourmet Hunter will receive the damage the feelers would have taken due to their sheer sensitivity, disrupting the survey. When you use this technique at 5th level, the initial range increases by 30ft, and its maximum increases to 600ft. Beginning at 8th level, your feelers no longer retract when damaged; however they will no longer extend past the maximum range they reached at that moment.
- Blue
• This hair color can detect high temperatures in an area.
- Pink
• This hair is used to detect high temperatures in an area.
- Green
• This hair is used to detect pressure such as changes in altitude when traveling up a mountain.
- White
• This hair senses painful stimuli such as something sharp or extremely hot.
Hair Lock[edit]
Prerequisite: 3rd level, Superhuman Touch
- 10+ Appetite Energy
As a bonus action, You may use your feelers to attempt to entangle a creature that is medium-sized or smaller within 10ft of you or your maximum hair feeler reach with your hair to restrain them. The creature must make a Strength saving throw against your Gourmet Hunter DC or be restrained by you until they successfully pass their saving throw. You may release the creature on your turn as a free action. The creature may attempt to break free at the start of each of their turn. If another creature attacks the hair restraining the target, your feelers will let go of the creature. Beginning at 11th level, when your hair is attacked, it will instead take the damage normally and will not let go of the creature unless reduced to 0HP, and you will be able to entangle creatures that are size large. Finally, at 17th level, you may entangle huge creatures. When entangling a creature larger than medium, the initial cost of this technique is increased by 10 Appetite Energy for each size above medium.
Hair Storage[edit]
Prerequisite: 3rd level, Superhuman Touch
- 5 Appetite Energy per hour sustained
Through experimentation, you've learned that your hair can now be used as a good method of storage. Your hair feelers can carry an amount equal to half of your own carrying capacity. Objects being carried by your hair feelers will be hidden within your hair follicles and are hidden from others except for yourself. Your feelers cannot hold objects or wield weapons only be used as a means of storage for objects up to small size any item larger would be easily noticed when carried. Beginning at 13th level, they can carry an amount equal to your own lifting capacity.
Surface Tension[edit]
Prerequisite: 3rd level, Superhuman Touch
- 5 Appetite Energy per hour
After experimenting, you've learned that you can travel across liquids and other surfaces with ease using your hair, such as when making a boat or sled. For the next hour after using this technique, provided your feelers are active, you will gain the ability to move across any liquid surface (excluding lava) or snow and may carry up to three additional creatures with you provided their total weight does not exceed your carrying capacity. If you also have the Hair Storage technique, you can utilize your feelers to increase your total carrying capacity. When you use this technique at 5th level, you may carry two additional creatures with you, and your feelers will also allow you to scale horizontally up walls and other terrains at a rate equal to your movement speed. The number of creatures you can carry increases again at levels 11 and 17. Your multicolored hair also carries special effects depending on each color.
Dining Kitchen[edit]
Prerequisite: 5th level, Superhuman Touch
- 5 Appetite Energy per round or 15 per hour outside of combat.
With your newly acquired golden hair strands, the possibilities of how you can now utilize your hair feelers are endless. At the start of combat, before the turn order has been decided, you may spend 5 Appetite Energy to use this technique, allowing you to freely use your hair feelers to manipulate anything around you. This technique may also be activated as a bonus action on your turn for the same cost. This allows your hair feelers to lift and carry an amount equal to half of your carrying and lifting capacity, similar to the hair Storage technique. You may not wield weapons using this technique, but you may throw, interact, or use items as if you were performing the action normally in addition to being able to attack with them. Your hair has a maximum reach of 30ft centered on you initially, and any attack made with it will be treated as if it were an unarmed attack. All Hair techniques can now be used up to whatever your current maximum range reach is from whatever point and can be used from a point you designate as a source within your Dining Kitchen. Your hair feelers will have a damage die equal to your martial arts die plus one extra step and can now deal your choice of slashing or piercing damage. Ex. d6->d8->d10, etc. At 11th level, increase the damage step of your hair feelers by two stages of your unarmed die instead of one, and increase again at 17th level to three steps.
Hair Spatula[edit]
Prerequisite: 5th level, Dining Kitchen
- 10+ Appetite Energy
As a reaction when your Dining Kitchen technique is active, you may use your hair feelers to alter the flow of an attack and potentially redirect it back to your opponent. When attacked by a ranged attack or projectile saving throw you may roll a d6 + two of your martial arts die to reduce the damage dealt by the attack. If the damage is ever reduced to 0 then you will immediately launch the attack back at your opponent. If it is a projectile attack, you will instead catch the projectile and will be able to throw it as an attack using your Gourmet Hunter attack modifier, dealing the projectile's normal damage on hit. The range at which the projectile can be thrown is equal to twice your current maximum hair feeler reach. For every 5 additional Appetite Energy spent, add an additional d6 to reduce the damage.
Hair Net[edit]
Prerequisite: 5th level, Dining Kitchen
- 25 Appetite Energy
As an action Using your hair feelers you can create a net of feelers that surround all creatures within a 5ft radius and a maximum range equal to your current hair feeler reach. Creatures caught will be forced to make a Dexterity saving throw or be trapped inside your net, and will be considered restrained on a success the creature is not trapped. For the duration of this technique your current hair feeler HP will be halved and if your hair net is attacked and reduced to zero HP, it will open and release all creatures inside. If your net's HP is reduced to 0 HP while using this technique your feelers will retain the other half of their HP lost when initially using this technique without any excess damage carrying over.
Hair Cutter[edit]
Prerequisite: 5th level, Dining Kitchen
- 30+ Appetite Energy
As an action, you cause all enemies within a 10ft cone in any direction, or all enemies within 5ft of you to a dexterity saving throw or be slashed by your hair feelers. This technique will deal 4d6 slashing damage or half as much on a success to all enemies within its range. For every 5 additional Appetite energy, you may increase the range of the cone by 5ft, increase the damage of the technique by an additional d6, or increase the radius of your slash by 5ft. Additionally, upon learning this technique, the tensile cutting strength of your feelers grows to allow you to deal double damage to all objects and constructs as even the largest of trees can fall to your slashes. Finally, the maximum range which the range of this technique can extend to is equal to your feeler's maximum reach.
Hair Assimilation[edit]
Prerequisite: 5th level
- 5+ Appetite Energy
As a Full Turn Action, the Gourmet Hunter may use their hair feelers to entangle and then consume the corpse of a medium or lower creature within range of them, regaining Appetite Energy for their kill. For every size below medium, the Gourmet Hunter will reduce the action cost of this technique. ex. Full Action ->Action->Bonus Action->Free Action. The Gourmet Hunter may also use this as a reaction immediately following them delivering the killing blow to a creature and spending an additional 5 Appetite Energy in the process to automatically consume a medium-sized creature over the course of their next turn. Any creature smaller than medium will be automatically consumed. If the creature is medium size, the Gourmet Hunter will be treated as if concentrating on a spell. If concentration is broken, the creature will be released to an unoccupied space next to the Gourmet Hunter. The Gourmet Hunter may also spend an additional increment of 10 Appetite Energy to consume a creature for every size category above medium size up to huge; however, in doing so, they will require more turns to finish consumption. ex. Large-size creatures require 2 full-turn actions, Huge size 3, etc. If the Gourmet Hunter is outside of combat, this technique will only cost 5 Appetite Energy and will instead require the Gourmet Hunter time to consume the creature. You may Refer to the Consumption Chart for how many minutes outside of combat and how much appetite Energy will be required. Any excess Appetite Energy over the Gourmet Hunter's maximum will become temporary hit points at a rate of every 5 excess for 1 temporary hit point to a maximum of 1/4 of their total Appetite Energy. These temporary hit points last until their next long rest or depleted.
Hair Split[edit]Prerequisite: 8th level, Hair Cutter
As an action, you cause your hair to expand to its maximum range around you impaling all creatures you designate. All designated enemies will make a dexterity saving throw or take 4d8 piercing damage or half as much on a success. Every additional 5 Appetite Energy will increase the damage of this technique by an additional d8. Starting at 13th level, you can designate a number of creatures equal to your Strength modifier (minimum of 1) who failed their dexterity saving throw to make a follow-up strength saving throw to then be pinned and suspended in the air by your feelers provided you can lift the combined weight of the creatures. Any attacks made by your feelers have advantage on creatures pinned in this manner. Hair Operation[edit]Prerequisite: 8th level, proficiency in the Medicine skill, Enhance Metabolism
Your mastery of manipulating your hair feelers has allowed you to reach a new peak of your abilities, allowing you to manipulate your Appetite Energy to heal other creatures using a method similar to your Enhance Metabolism technique. Initially, you have a healing pool of 4d6 + Your Wisdom Modifier to distribute among as many creatures as your Wisdom modifier (minimum of one). So long as the designated creatures are within your feeler's range, you may distribute as much healing to your allies from the rolled number as you desire. This technique can be used as an action and cannot be used on yourself. For every additional 5 Appetite Energy, you may increase the healing pool die by an additional d6+1. You may also expend 20 from the healing pool to remove 1 condition affecting a creature or 1 level of exhaustion as if Greater Restoration was cast. Additionally, once the Gourmet Hunter reaches 13th level, you may spend up to an hour healing a creature to restore lost or damaged limbs and body parts by performing an advanced operation. Using this technique in this manner will increase its Appetite Energy cost and allow the creature to regain 30 hit points.
