Gourmet Hunter Superhuman Hearing Techniques (5e Other)
From D&D Wiki
Machine Gun Voice[edit]
Prerequisite: 3rd level, Superhuman Hearing
- 10 Appetite Energy
The Gourmet Hunter opens their mouth to unleash a barrage of sound-based projectiles which can be fired at any number of enemies. You fire 3 Sound Bullets with a range of 90ft at creatures or objects in range. Make a Ranged Attack against the target and on a hit they take 1d4+1 Thunder Damage per bullet. You may target as many creatures as you have a number of bullets and can freely distribute the number of bullets that hit a target as you please. This technique's damage increases by 1 bullet when you reach 5th level (4 bullets), 11th level (5 bullets), and 17th level (6 bullets).
Sound Bullet[edit]
Prerequisite: 3rd level, Superhuman Hearing
- 5 Appetite Energy
Through immense concentration, you can project your voice at another creature with such precision that only they can perceive what you are saying. When you use this technique choose one creature within 100ft who you can see and you can send a short message to them. 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood blocks this technique and it does not have to follow a straight line as it can freely move around corners and openings. In combat, this technique requires a bonus action to be used. When you use this technique at 5th level, the range increases by 400ft. The range increases again at levels 11 (1 mile) and 17 (10 miles). Additionally, starting at 13th level, this technique can freely travel through walls and other terrains until it reaches its target provided you know their direction and you no longer need to see them, only be familiar with them.
Voice Press[edit]
Prerequisite: 3rd level, Superhuman Hearing
- 10+ Appetite Energy
You open your mouth to unleash a powerful short-range attack. Choose one creature within 15 ft of you and as an action, make an attack roll against them. On a hit, this technique will deal 3d6 Thunder damage and cause them to make a constitution saving throw. On a failure, this technique will reduce their speed by half due to their body being disoriented from the blast. For every Additional 5 Appetite Energy used, increase the damage of this technique by 1d6 up to a maximum of 8d6.
Strange Voice[edit]
Prerequisite: 5th level, Superhuman Hearing, Routine
- 10 Appetite Energy per round sustained
Using your voice you continuously emit an everchanging frequency to any creature you designate within 15ft of you. As an action, you make all creatures of a specific species (example, orcs, dwarves, or goblins) must make a Wisdom Saving throw against your Technique DC or be agitated and focus on you as the source of the frequency causing enemy creatures to attack you on their turns, or use half of their movement to move further away from you. Creatures affected by this technique will repeat at the start of their turns, the saving throw while they remain within the range of you. While using this technique you will be considered concentrating, and you may freely sustain using it so long as you spend Appetite Energy. Finally, this technique does not affect creatures without hearing or constructs.
Dissonacnce[edit]
Prerequisite: 5th level, Superhuman Hearing
- 10 Appetite Energy
The Gourmet Hunter tightens their core in preparation for its next Sound-based technique. As a bonus action, your next Superhuman Hearing technique that deals Thunder or Force damage will ignore resistance and treat immunity as resistance, and deal an additional 2d6 of Force or Thunder damage (Your choice). If a technique already ignores resistance, it will instead ignore immunity. For every 5 additional Appetite Energy increases the die of the additional by 1 to a maximum of 10d6
Voice Cutter[edit]
Prerequisite: 8th level, Superhuman Hearing
- 20+ Appetite Energy
Using your voice, you emit high-frequency vibrations that create thin blades of sound that can cut any creature. As an action, choose any creature within 30ft of the Gourmet Hunter and make an attack against them. On a hit, they take 2d8 slashing and 2d8 Thunder damage that will ignore resistance (not immunity). For every Additional 10 Appetite Energy increase the damage dealt by this technique by an additional 1d8 to each damage type.
Thunder Noise[edit]
Prerequisite: 8th level, Superhuman Hearing
- 40+ Appetite Energy
You shout towards the sky, sending large amounts of soundwaves high into the atmosphere until they coalesce forming a cloud of sound. The sound continues to echo and condense further with the cloud causing it to become louder and more intense until it falls from the sky as thunderbolt-like blasts of sound. As an action, you may cause all creatures within a 10ft radius within a maximum range of 50ft of the Gourmet Hunter to make a dexterity saving throw, or take 4d6 Force damage and 4d6 Thunder damage or half as much on a success. For every additional 10 Appetite Energy used the damage for both force and thunder increase by an additional 1d6.
Sound Armor[edit]
Prerequisite: 8th level, Strange Voice
- 35+ Appetite Energy
You project sound waves that will encase a friendly creature in a TV static-live coating around their body that will erect a greenish barrier to hold attacks at bay. As a reaction, to any ally (not including yourself) being attacked or being forced to make a saving throw you erect this sound armor so powerful that virtually nothing can penetrate it. Your ally will gain a +5 bonus to their AC against the triggering attack. If the attack is a saving throw, the ally instead gains an additional +5 to the saving throw, and on a success, they instead take no damage if they would normally take half. For an additional 5 Appetite Energy, after the ally affected by Sound Armor has been protected from the attack, you may then choose to form a bubble that will float them to an unoccupied space within 10ft of their location of your choosing without incurring attacks of opportunity.
Beat Punch[edit]
Prerequisite: 12th level, Superhuman Hearing
- 50+ Appetite Energy
You channel sound vibrations through your fist exponentially increasing its destructive capabilities. As an action, make an unarmed strike against an enemy, on a hit they take your normal unarmed damage, plus an additional 4d4 force and 4d4 Thunder damage. They must then make a Constitution saving throw with creatures larger than medium size making the roll normally and creatures medium and below rolling with disadvantage. On a failure, the creature will suffer from internal bleeding and foam from the mouth (if applicable) after being struck continuously taking d4 necrotic damage at the start of each of their turns until they take a long rest, or receive medical aid. Creatures with a lack of bodily systems will always pass this saving throw. If the initial attack of this technique reduces a target to 0 HP, it will violently execute them causing their body to explode from the internal trauma. Every additional 10 Appetite Energy will increase the damage of the initial force and thunder damage by an additional d4.
