Goblin[edit]

Racial Description[edit]

ShniqZN.png
Goblins gathering to fight,[1]

Goblins are a frail, weak and non-intelligent race of humanoid monsters that exist within Tensura. Found primarily in the forested regions, they usually form camps or live in small villages, as a single goblin cannot survive in the wilderness alone. However, due to their lack of strength, they're usually easily overpowered by the stronger races, such as Dire Wolves or Orcs.

History[edit]

Goblins, though seen as the lowest rung in monster society, rivaling slimes in this regard, are still descendants from powerful races.

Long ago, Goblins descended from the offspring of Dwarves and Oni.

Society[edit]

Despite their obvious shortcomings goblins are known to be fierce warriors in groups, and this is reflected in their societies.

Many goblin villages are dotted around the Forest of Jura and it's surroundings, and while they function as individual groups on their own, when a threat arises to the forest as a whole, they've often been known to band together, creating a sizable force.

They also commonly trade and communicate between villages despite each having it's own autonomy.

Goblin Names[edit]

As a weak race of humanoid monsters within Tensura, like most monster races, Goblins are not naturally named, instead being referred to as an individual or group.

They may also have nicknames or identifying qualities, but none have true names unless Named by another.

Goblin Traits[edit]

A race of weak humanoid monsters with potential individually, a true threat in groups.
Ability Score Increase. When determining your goblin's ability scores, you may increase a score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. You can't raise Constitution or Intelligence this way. Naturally, you can't raise any of your scores above 20. Additionally, your maximum Constitution and Intelligence are decreased by 2.
Age. Death by a variety of common factors is frequent for Goblins, and as such they don't usually live very long. On average, goblins only live for a measly 20-30 years. They mature around age 5-8.
Alignment. Due to their surroundings and pack based mentality, they're usually between Neutral Good to True Neutral.
Size. Small, (2 ft.–4 ft.)
Type. You are Humanoid. You are also considered a demi-human or goblin for any prerequisite or purposes that would target a creature of those types.

Magicules. You start with 8 Magicules, and gain 8 per level.

Strength of the Small. When you damage a creature with an attack, spell, or skill, for every size category the creature is above yours, you can cause the attack, spell or skill to deal extra damage to the creature. The extra damage equals your proficiency bonus. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Languages. You can speak Common and Goblin.

Evolutions[edit]

Hobgoblin/Goblina[edit]

Evolution Requirements:

Goblins evolve directly into Hobgoblin/Goblina, and do not have any parallel evolution paths. Upon evolution to Hobgoblin/Goblina, they become taller, more durable, and more intelligent. They are still considered on the lower end of the monster races, however they're no longer at the bottom of the food chain, and have incredible potential on their own. Any racial traits from the previous evolution are overwritten by the information below.

Underdogs of the Monster World. When you damage a creature with an attack, spell, or skill, for every size category the creature is above yours, you can cause the attack, spell or skill to deal extra damage to the creature. The extra damage equals double your proficiency bonus. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Ogre (WORK IN PROGRESS)[edit]

Evolution Requirement:

While players may choose to start as an Ogre, they may also evolve from Hobgoblin/Goblinas into them, granting different benefits. Upon evolution to Ogre, you become more muscular, taller and more powerful overall. You also sprout either one or two horns atop your head. No longer considered the bottom of the food chain, Ogres are considerable threats alone, and far more dangerous in groups, despite their seldom numbers. Any racial traits from the previous evolution are overwritten by the information below.
Ability Score Increase. You may increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. You cannot increase your scores above 20 this way.
Age. Your evolution has furthered your vitality, as Ogres tend to live for a substantial 100 years on average. Being a twice evolved race, you are already matured.
Alignment. Upon evolution to Ogre, you are able to keep your previous alignment, or, at this stage, deviate from it. Most Ogres are any form of Good or Neutral, rarely becoming Evil.
Size. Medium, (4 ft.–8 ft.)
Type. You are Humanoid. You are also considered a demi-human or goblin for any prerequisite or purposes that would target a creature of those types.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Magicules. You gain 8 Magicules, and gain 8 per level.
Pack Tactics. You have advantage on attack rolls against another creature if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the target creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.
Languages. You can speak Common and Goblin.
