Proficiency Bonus +2 Eternal. If the ghost of light is destroyed, it reappears undamaged in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of its guardian after 24 hours. Guardian Angel. The ghost of light cannot willingly move more than 100 feet away from its living guardian. If forcibly moved, it will immediately teleport back to an unoccupied space within 10 feet of the guardian. Additionally, if its guardian is reduced to 0 hit points while the ghost is dismissed, the construct summons itself. Limited Assistance. The ghost of light cannot use the Help or Ready actions. ACTIONSFlashlight. The ghost of light casts light on itself without spell components. Wisdom is its spellcasting ability. Revival Protocol. If its guardian is reduced to 0 hit points, the ghost of light can expend and roll all of their available Hit Dice. The guardian immediately regains hit points equal to the combined rolls. If the guardian has no Hit Dice available, the ghost of light can revive them with all their hit points at the next dawn if the guardian is dead. If revived in this way, the guardian acts as if they just completed a long rest, but regains no Hit Dice. Revival Protocol is as powerful as a wish and can revive a guardian even if their body is completely destroyed. If a new body is created, the guardian revives in the nearest unoccupied space to where they were killed.

Ghosts of light are magical constructs created by The Traveler to revive and assist their guardians. Unless their ghost is destroyed completely, a guardian is effectively impossible to permanently kill. While they usually start out as white prisms of rotating parts with a single eye in the center, most ghosts will change their coloring and sometimes even designs to better match their guardian’s fashion sensibilities. |
