The current map of the known world.

Teregia is vast, and it can be daunting to get a grip on where what is, and who lives where. To help any geographically challenged readers, we split the world into categories depending on their location, to make sure even the most dimwitted yokel can find their way around the world.

Continents[edit]

Titania[edit]

"These lands were the first to be settled by our kind, along with those humans the gods deemed worthy. Everything we could want for is here; the rock is solid, the veins are deep, and the soil fertile enough to grow all we need. It is no surprise that we, the foremost servants of the gods, were given these lands to settle, while those less favored had to made do with faraway misty islands, and cold rocks in the sea. Some clueless scholars would have you believe that other lands were just as favored as titania, but so do those arrogant lorekeepers of Conrani, and really, when can you ever trust the words of an elf?"

- Leifi Snorrson, Dwarven Scholar

The grandest of all the continents, it is here that most of the Titan Wars took place, to the far north. The sheer energy released by spells, and titanic dead throes, has shattered most of the northern region, making it an uninhabitable wasteland, so all civilizations exist in the south. Despite much the north being so barren, the continent is still staggering in size, consisting of enormous jungles, savannas, and mountain ranges, stretching for many thousands of miles. Even to this day, there are still large areas in the south that remain unexplored.

Great Dragon Forest[edit]

This jungle was originally settled by refugees fleeing from Conrani, after Tarmara and Melwyniac's duel. They found a thick rain forest, so dense that you could walk for days in pitch black darkness along the forest floor. No other races had claimed this area, but there were other more sinister beings that made their home here. Most prominent of these were the green dragons, who were so numerous and strong that they often hunted the elves for sport. Since then, the elves have grown stronger, as the number of dragons living in the forest has greatly declined, but even the proudest of elves, would not dare to consider themselves to be truly safe in this place.

The Bloody Barrens[edit]

This vast desert, is known for one thing above all; orcs. Ever since the orcs settled in these barren wastes, none of their civilized neighbors have been beyond the reach or the power of these orcs. The have fought in a near constant state of war with both elven, dwarven, and helnic peoples, since they started to settle the world, and despite combined incursions to conquer and fortify the area, the orcs yet remain.

Quicksand Dunes[edit]

During the Dark Ages, when most still lived in small communities and villages, there were rumored to be one empire in the east, that flourished above all else. While many doubt that this empire even existed, many ancient ruins dot the Quicksand Dunes, telling of stories of both great splendor and hubris. The Quicksand dunes aren't a safe place to travel, but some curious explorers still take their chances, and only very few return.

The Ratlands[edit]

These mysterious jungles have yet to be explored much, but those who do, have found them to be surprisingly free of horrible monsters, probably beacause they were used to the Great Dragon Forest. Some speculate that the name "Ratlands" was coined to stop others from claiming prime real estate here, though some still have their doubts about just how safe these lands are.

Scorne[edit]

The isle of Scorne

"I don se wy dem fanci nobelmen in dem keeps of theirs, can tel hov us comon folk get to liv our lives, wen deys can not even take a gander trugh the woods at niht, witout soilin their trausers. Id say, if dey wands their shilins and watnot, deys can tri and come take em, im livin as a fre man nov!"

- Old Percy, former Rhynbeg farmer (deceased)

Scorne, The Isle of Mist. It has long been settled by it's namesake people, but much of this land is covered in dark forbidding forests, and great mountains, so many places remain yet untouched by man. The climate here is mostly temperate, with warm summers and cold winters; the northern coast sees mostly pleasant weather, while the south, especially the southwest, are often sweept by arctic winds.

Grand Arenfell Forest[edit]

Inland, beyond the Dragonback Spine and the Stony Peaks, lies a vast forest, that streches across almost all of Scorne. This placed is called The Grand Arenfell Forest, named after the doomed king, who died exploring it in ages past. While nominally most of it is a part of The Kingdom of Carrickdon, only a few small settlements dot it, and there are no major roads to travel on.

Ereloc Wildlands[edit]

In the south, lies the cold Ereloc Wildlands. Here the land is covered in bogs, lakes, and corniferous forest. Despite the colder climate, many settlements lie on the coast, as the seas are bountiful.

The Hollow Lands[edit]

Few things are known about The Hollow Lands. In all of Scorne, these cold mashes were last ones to be settled by man. The War of Mists, that broke much of Carrickdon's power, saw many refugees coming here to settle anew, and the population is slowly growing once more.

Dragonback Spine[edit]

This mountain range lies along the northern coast. It blocks many of the cold winds from the south, and bears much responsibility for the mild climate of the north and the lands beyond.

King's Passage[edit]

This important channel, separates Titania from Scorne, and is a vital link between the Central Sea, and The Great Hollow Sea. Some old stories talk of a land bridge between the continents, and indeed the waters aren't more than some 50 feet deep in some places.

Cealand[edit]

"Most folks prefer the simple life, or the comfy life if they have the coin. Few choose the rough life unless they have no choice, but we are not like most men! If you hear of old vaults, sunken ships, or monster lairs, you can bet you will find men like us looking into them. It may not always pay much, and we always lose some along the way, but such is an adventurers life. It's a life we wouldn't want any other way, and when the snowstorms howl in your ears, an you can't sleep from hunger, the dreams of that one big find will keep you going."

- Tom 'The Blade' Fjaldi, Váðland Adventurer Captain

Cealand is as vast as it is mysterious. Once the home of giants, most have long since been driven out by elves and vereg tribes, who took their homes for themselves. Most of the west is sheltered from arctic winds, and enjoy mild weather, while the east is inhabited mostly along the coastline.

Whispering Forest[edit]

These woods are settled by many vereg tribes in the west, but the true rulers of the forest, are the elves of Conrani. Dotted by ancient fortresses, and splendid marble towers, few dare contest their dominion. These ancient woodlands also contain more than just elves and animals; many mysterious beasts make their homes in hidden groves and mountain lairs.

The Asgir Expanse[edit]

An massive land of snow and danger, few have tried to settle it, apart from a few brave vereg tribes. Legend has it that the king of the iron giants Asgir, went into exile here upon his defeat, bringing what few people he had with him. Here lies ancient monoliths, older than even the giants, and some daring souls venture here to claim their priceless tresasures, ignorant of the terrible dangers that lurk within.

The Beastlands[edit]

Lying beyond the Ironfrost Passage, The Beastlands is wild, bitterly cold, and inhospitable place. Only a few foolish attempts have been made to settle this place, all ending in failure. And yet, rumors of ancient treasures lure new foolhardy adventures to it's shores every year.
