Flora Colossi

Physical Description
By JayzlH |
Flora colossi are as they sound. They are plant-based creatures that have large bodies that tower over that of normal humans. Their bodies are made of plant fibers and are known to grown multitudes of flowers year-round. While their body shape is facetiously humanoid, they lack the typical organs and structures. Usually, their head is a giant flower, the largest and most decorated on their body. More, smaller flowers grow along their backs and limbs. These flowers are known to appear bbeautiful and even alien, with spines, speckles, and all sorts of odd colors. Their hands and feet are often like tendrils, made of plant stems, vines, and roots. Leaves often will cover their body tightly, wrapping it. Unlike something like a treant, flora colossi are not as tough, as they are not of plants that grow bark skin.
History
The colossi are believed to be a variant among the many natural creatures formed of elements in the world. While they are not elementals, they strongly draw from primal energies like other animated plants in nature, like woads and treants. It is said they were originally something created by a group of firbolg druids, though this is unclear. Their purpose historically was to spread pollination, but this has since lost its place as a tradition when they desired other things, like company. Like pollen or the seeds of a dandelion, flora colossi are known to wander when they so desire, and are a whimsical-minded race.
Society
As they are not as stiff as tree-based creatures, with stiff branches and such, flora colossi have proven capable of forming necessary instruments with their bodies to perform tasks that made for easier interaction with other creatures. Some have soothing aromas that they use to placate friend and foe alike, while others are able to use patterns on their petals to confuse and even pollen to stun other creatures. Flora colossi are able to learn languages, adjusting their plant flesh to create the necessary holes and such to emit proper noises. They are known to interact frequently with those who pass by the glades and forests they reside in, and some even actually venture out into cities. They are a bit overbearing in that they do not understand they are not always a normal sight, and they sometimes take offense to being alienated.
Flora Colossus Names
Like flowers, flora colossi do have reproductive organs within their largest flower... that is, their face. Flora colossi are classified as hermaphrodites, as they have both sets of gonads necessary for reproduction. As such, the splitting of sexes or gender is a weird idea to them. They are asexual creatures within simple names that often sound like breaths of fresh spring air, being airy and short.
