Applicability[edit]

The displayed image for "Warrior monk" is not a warrior monk at all, but Count Ugolino della Gherardesca (Count of Pisa - Italy ~1200) dying among his dead sons: they were all locked by his enemies into a tower (the room depicted in the image) where they were left to starve (from Dante's "Inferno", the first part of "Divine Comedy", in the famous edition illustrated by Dorè). P.S. Dorè's engravings for the Divina Commedia are quite recognizables! Maybe a more pertinent image is needed (I have none, sorry). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 79.46.231.181 (talkcontribs) 14:34, 2 November 2012‎ (MDT). Please sign your posts.

The context of the drawing fits the warrior monk, and that is why this image was chosen. --Green Dragon (talk) 19:51, 2 November 2012 (MDT)
