Class Features[edit]

Faerzress immunity: You are now immune to all negative effects of faerzress radiation. Faerzress no longer has any effect on any spell you cast or spell-like ability you use (Scry, Teleport, etc.).

Faerzress dependency:You are immune to faerzress, but at great cost. You have now become dependant on faerzress radiation to power your spells and body; you take one point each Constitution and Wisdom damage every time you go without exposure to it. At 1st level you require exposure once per month, at 3rd level twice per month, at 5th level once per week, at 7th twice per week and at 9th once per day.

Improved casting: Any time when you have filled your exposure requirement for that time period, you gain an increase to the effective caster level of your spell-like abilities equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Eldritch blast: Your eldritch blast damage die changes to a d8 and increases by +1d8 at every even level (+1d8 at 2nd, +2d8 at 4th, +3d8 at 6th, +4d8 at 8th , +6d8 at 10th). You lose your ability to use eldritch blast anytime you have not exposed yourself to faerzress.

Extra fire: Your connection with faerzress has empowered your faerie fire spell-like ability beyond the normal range of your race. From now on the duration of your faerie fire spell-like ability is doubled, and you gain an extra use per day of faerie fire at 6th and 9th level. This does not require exposure to faerzress

Earthen Whispers: At 10th level you gain stone tell as a spell-like ability usable at will in any area with faerzress. This also grants you a permanent +10 bonus on Knowledge (Underdark) and Knowledge (Nature) checks when pertaining to the Underdark.

Exposure[edit]

You can fill your required faerzress exposure simply by resting in an area of faerzress for one hour. If you are unable to fill your exposure requirement, you may make a Fortitude save (DC 20 + Faerglissal level) to negate the ability damage; you gain a -2 circumstance penalty to this check if you've been exposed to sunlight within 24 hours of making it. You may make this save every time you fail to expose yourself to faerzress, but if you fail this save, all of the ability damage that would have been dealt previously is dealt now.

Other forms of exposure

Irradiated items: You may irradiate an item by leaving it an area of strong faerzress for one week. You may use that item once to fill your exposure requirement, after which it returns to its normal state; you may then irradiate the drained item again. Items irradiated in this fashion remain so for one month or until drained or exposed to sunlight. Exposure to sunlight immediately drains the item and deals 2d6 points of damage (Fort Dc 20 halves). A gentle repose spell doubles the duration, rather than its normal effect.

Playing a Faerglissal[edit]

More druid than warlock, you fuse your inner magic to the beautiful radiation of faerzress. Your constant need for exposure to the radiation largely dominates your life, leading you to leave society to become one with the glowing font of power that most Underdark beings despise. You are largely unknown to most other drow but among the inner circles of the clergy and mage guilds you are treated as little more than a dangerous, if primitive, foe.

Combat

The Faerglissal trades versatility for a ridiculously powerful eldritch blast. That, coupled with more powerful invocations and great knowledge of your surrounding world, makes you a far more potent foe then many spellcasters of the same experience.

Faerglissal in the world Persecuted throughout the Underdark for their abilities, they tend to withdraw to secluded caverns deep within the Lowerdark where the faerzress is most potent. Other powerful drow see them as anarchists in a realm consumed by anarchy, monsters that should be controlled or destroyed before they lead others down their path of self destruction.
