Eyebloom[edit]

Contracting Eyebloom[edit]

It has been well documented that when a beholder dreams of another beholder, it creates a warp in reality from which new beholders are born. But what happens when a beholder dreams of a humanoid? Most of the time, nothing happens. But on rare occasions when the one being dreamed of is in close proximity to the beholder, they contract Eyebloom. Other cases then spread from there.

Effects[edit]

Stage 0: 1d4 days after you contract Eyebloom, the disease activates. Any humanoid that cones into physical contact with you must succeed on a DC 15 con save or contract Eyebloom. 1d4 days later, you progress to stage 1.

Stage 1: You can no longer spread the disease. Over the next 30 minutes, odd black spots form on the top and bottom of your feet, the palms and backs of your hands, and just below your ribcadge on the sides of your torso. 12 hours later, you progress tto tage 2.

Stage 2 All of your hair falls out. Over the next 2 hours, you skin becomes thicker, rougher, and leathery, as your eyes slide toward each other and merge into one big eye. Your teeth become larger and pointier, and your nose and ears recede a bit. the odd dots grow a colored circle around themselves. 2 days later, you procede to stage 3.

Stage 3 You begin to float five inches off the ground. Over thee next hour, you slowly rise up to three feet. You gain a flying speed of 20 feet and can hover. Your limbs begin to writhe and split, as the dots turn into real eyes. Over the next 2 hours, your limbs divide into two eyestalks each, and the eyes on your sides grow on stalks as well. you lose our walking speed, but gain he mage hand cantrip. 5 days later, you progress to stage 4

Stage 4 Your eyestalks slide up your body, until they are all attached to your head. Your nose and ears fully recede into your head. You then begin to enlarge, and your muscles weaken. Over the next hour, your size increases by 1.3x and your weight increases by 1.5x. Your torso smooths over, and you lose all physical features on it. Your str gets -1. 1 week later, you progress to stage 5.

Stage 5 Your eyestalks enlarge until they are about the thickness of an arm. then, Your ine large eye and your mouth slowly slide down your body until they are in the center of your chest, even while your torso begins to shape itself into aa sphere. These processes take about an hour. After that, your eyestalks moe.down and position themselves like hair on your torso, as your previous head is absorbed into your chest. Your one large eye and mouth enlarge even more. All of your inner anatomy then shifts painfully to match thst of a Beholders. Roll a DC 17 CHA save. on a success you retain your mind, but on a faliure your memories of ever being anything but a Beholder are lost. Either way, you are now considered a Beholder for all intents and purposes.
