Elementally Absorbent
Prerequisites: Ability to cast Absorb Elements
Seeing the simple abjuration charm as a useful tool for combating mages, you’ve greatly expanded your mastery over a certain defensive spell.
- Absorb Elements may trigger off of any type of magical damage.
- Absorb Elements’ damage may be applied to any attack and persists until the next successful attack or combat ends. If the attack is a critical hit, double the damage dealt by Absorb Elements.
- When you cast Absorb Elements using a 5th level spell slot or higher, the spell grants immunity instead of resistance.
- When you cast Absorb Elements using a 9th level spell slot, the spell reflects the damage you would have taken back at the caster, ignoring any resistances or immunities.
- When you cast Absorb Elements, gain temporary hit points equal to the spell slot level it is cast with.
- When you deal damage with Absorb Elements, gain temporary hit points equal to the spell slot level it was cast with.
- You may cast Absorb Elements without a spell slot a number of times equal to your spellcasting modifier. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
