Combat[edit]

Natural Weapons

Full Attack: An eagle makes two attacks with its talons (1d4 slashing damage), and one bite (1d4 piercing damage).

Abilities[edit]

Eagle Vision

Eagles have incredibly powerful vision, and gain a +8 to all sight related perception checks. Eagles can see 4 times as far as the average person when it comes to making a perception check.

Topple

An eagle can spend a full round climbing into the sky, and choosing a target. On its next turn, it dives down towards it target, and grabs it by the neck, slamming it into the ground, dealing 1d8 points of bludgeoning damage plus 1d4 points of slashing damage. If there is any friendly character engaged in melee combat with the eagles target, it is considered to be flanking with that character when its attack roll is made. On a successful hit, the target must make a reflex saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is knocked prone, the eagle can then choose to either take off immediately, or attempt to grapple its target. If successful, the target is kept prone.

Scout

The hunter can send her eagle companion to scout an area, where it will gather information about terrain, resources, and enemies that it finds. How far the hunter sends her eagle out determines how long it will take, and how much information will be learned. Upon the eagle's return, the hunter rolls handle animal to interpret the information learned by her companion.

If the eagle is surveying one of the hunter's favored terrain types, it gets the same bonuses to perception.
