Drill 250 gp 1d6 bludgeoning 15 lb. Heavy, special

This drill is a piece of advanced personal mining equipment, used among civilizations that have advanced to the age of steam. It comes with an associated steam canister to provide it power, connected by hoses to the drill's main apparatus. A more barbaric mind would simply use it to bash people about the head.

Steam Powered. This drill uses pressurized steam to enable its use, of which 10 charges are held in its storage canister. As a bonus action, you can expend a charge of steam from the drill's canister to power it for 10 minutes. While powered, the drill's head spins, and you can use it to pierce foes instead of bashing them. When you hit a target while attacking in this manner, it deals 2d6 piercing damage in place of the drill's normal damage.

Tunneling. While the drill is powered, you can use it to tunnel through nonmagical earth. You can use it to burrow through dirt, sand, gravel, or other loose earth at a rate of 5 feet per minute, or through hard rock at a rate of 5 feet per 10 minutes.
