Dragonclad School[edit]
Wizard Subclass
Wizards who follow the dragonclad school study the nature of the arcane powers of dragons, in an attempt to control and manipulate these powers by communing with the spirits of dragons to either control said spirits or to fuse with them.
- Draconic Nature
Starting when you choose this tradition at 2nd level, you learn how to speak, read and write draconic. In addition, you gain Advantage on Charisma checks made against dragons, and can use your Intelligence modifier, rather than your Charisma or Wisdom modifier, when socially interacting with dragons.
- Dragon Bolt
At 2nd level, you can conjure the power of the dragon's breath. When you gain this feature, choose one damage type from the following: acid, cold, fire, lightning or poison. As an action, you can make a ranged spell attack against a creature within 120 feet. On a hit, you cause 1d10 damage from the type chosen. The damage increases to 2d10 at 5th level, 3d10 at 11th level and 4d10 at 17th level.
In addition, when you use dragon bolt, you can enhance its power. When you do so, on a hit its damage increase to 2d8 (rather than 1d10). This damage further increases to 4d8 at 5th level, 6d8 at 11th level and 8d8 at 17th level. You can enhance Dragon Bolt a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain your uses after finishing a long rest.
- Draconic Destruction
Starting at 6th level, when you cast your Dragon Bolt, you can infuse it with the true power of the dragon's breath. When you do so, instead of rolling for an attack, you choose an area of 15-foot cone, and force all creatures within that area to make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, they take the damage of your Dragon Bolt.
If you empower the Dragon Bolt, the area is a 60-foot cone instead, and targets take half the damage on a successful save.
- Draconic Companion
At 10th level, you can conjure a draconic ally, that will fight by your side. You can use this feature to cast summon draconic spirit once, without spending spell slots or requiring material components. The damage type for breath and resistances of the dragon is the same of the type of your Dragon Bolt.
After you do so, you regain the ability to cast the spell without a slot when you finish a long rest. You can use this feature again by spending your own spell slots.
- Dragon Mimicry
When you reach the 14th level, you can merge with the spirit of your draconic companion, becoming one with him. You can cast draconic transformation once, without spending a spell slot. After doing so, you can't do it again until you finish a long rest.
In addition, your creature type change to "dragon", and you age 1 year for each 10 years that passes.
