Will FR Gods Becoming Core (Greyhawk) Gods?[edit]

Is it just me, or are the Forgotten Realms deities making a slow creep into the core/default D&D setting? According to this article, Bane who has always been a FR-only god, is going to be introduced into the core set of gods in 4E. After reading the article, I remembered Karsus being mentioned in the Tome of Magic. So I thumb through it, and find him listed as a vestige. I also notice the vestige Amon. At first glance it seems to a reference to the Egyptian god Amun. But the description and the reference to Karsus seem point to the dead FR god Amaunator. Strange, I agree. D&D will change greatly with 4e, the amount of levels, the deities, everything... Hope it's good :).

Wasn't Lolth once a FR deity? I would not know for sure, I started with 3.5...

Another thing: how is greyhawk the "core game" world when there is no background information for it in the core books?

Forgotten Realms is great. The more deities the better, I say.

Most of the non-human deities (Lloth, Corelleon, Moradin, Bahamut, etc...) were for the most part any-world deities. They weren't tied to any specific world. So you'd see them in both Greyhawk and FR. Though they were probably used in Greyhawk first just by virtue of it being around before FR. The human gods, however, (Heironeous, Hextor, Bane, Karsus, Amaunator, etc...) tended to be specific to a particular world. |

Yea also, I am constantly reminded of steroids and black letard when I think of Bane. Of all the names in the universe......
