Golem Manual Price[edit]

Eiji 03:27, 3 February 2008 (MST)[edit]

The prices for the Golem Manuals have thrown me off. I was trying to reverse engineer them to find out the price for a book on a Dedicated Wright golem instead, but I can't do it. I'm also a bit unclear... I know it covers everything but 'material components' but can't tell how much though are. Such as on a clay golem, is that the 1500 in tinctures, or the 40,000 in price. Or 21,500 because you're making it, minus the xp cost...

Anyway, does anyone know either how the price is obtained, or could reasonably price the Dedicated Wright? I think I can post the pre-reqs as long as I leave the actual golem out of it, so here it is, from the Eberron Campaign Setting...

Craft Construct, arcane eye, fabricate; Price—(never sold); Cost 2,100 gp+ 160 XP.

So, what's a book go for?

I think it is about 4850gp for the book. You take the Minimum Caster Level for the highest level spell, times it by the spell levels and add the result (CL9, so (9x4)+(9x5)=81). Then times that number by 50 (see DmG pg 285, table 7-33, spell effect: single use, use activated)= 81x50= 4050. Take the XP requirement and times it by 5 (160x5=800)- see same table, spell has XP cost. Add the two numbers. 4850. I don't know about the body's cost. Although I don't really know about how accurate the figue is. I'm guessing how it would work, with some sort of accuracy that could well be inaccurate, just when I worked out the Hp of the mountain. But i am less sure about this figue.
