Dimensional Splinter Plate (5e Equipment)

Armor (splint), very rare (requires attunement)

The armor plates that adorn this armor all look ever so slightly off from one another. That’s because they are each from and charged with the magic of different Outer Planes. While it might seem like some strange madness, the assemblage allows the wearer to call in help from across the multiverse with a little painful targeting.

The armor has 10 charges. While wearing it, you can use a reaction to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it without spell components or concentration when you take damage from a creature. The spell you cast is based on the type of creature that dealt damage. Once this property is used, you cannot use it again for 1 hour. Constitution is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Creature Type Charges Spell
Beast 2 summon beast
Fey 3 summon fey
Monstrosity 3 summon shadowspawn
Undead 3 summon undead
Aberration 4 summon aberration
Construct 4 summon construct
Elemental 4 summon elemental
Celestial 5 summon celestial
Dragon 5 summon draconic spirit
Fiend 6 summon fiend
Additionally, you may spend 1 or more charges to cast planar ally as an action. The summoned creature considers each charge spent equivalent to a down payment of 100 gp, but may request more compensation and is under no obligation to do your bidding. You do not regain the charges if an agreement is not reached. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until the next dawn.
The weapon regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, you immediately lose control of the summoned creature and it turns hostile towards you.
