One creature you can see within range becomes engulfed in an intense dry heat. The target must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 2d6 fire damage and 2d6 necrotic damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. If the target fails the saving throw by 5 or more, they gain one level of exhaustion.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd-Level or higher, both damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st. When you cast the spell using a spell slot of 5th-Level or higher, the target gains one level of exhaustion on a failed save, and two levels of exhaustion if they fail by 5 or more. If cast using a spell slot of 9th-Level, the target gains two levels of exhaustion on a failed save and three levels of exhaustion if they fail by 5 or more.
