Desert's Avatar (3.5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Desert's Avatar: This bizarre, bright green suit is naught but a giant hollowed-out cactus, with the top hacked off and cut for use as a helmet, holes cut in either side for the wearer's arms, and eyelets and laces worked into the sides for easier removal. The entire cactus is covered with inch-long wooden thorns that magically regrow when broken or bent, and thick strips of the cactus's hide are worked into its gauntlets and greaves.
This odd-looking suit of +1 spiked hide armor grants the wearer a +5 competence bonus to Hide checks made in desert terrain. It likewise grants immunity to the effects of extreme heat (as if the wearer were under the effects of endure elements) and resistance to fire 5. The wearer does not suffer from thirst or dehydration while this armor is worn.
Any creature that strikes the wearer of desert's avatar with an unarmed strike, natural weapon, or non-reach melee weapon takes 1d4 points of piercing damage from the armor's long, woody thorns.
Once per day, the wearer can command the armor to launch its thorns in one great burst, dealing 5d6 points of piercing damage to every creature in a 15-foot radius (Reflex DC 16 half). Once the thorns have been fired, the armor spikes are gone, and the armor itself no longer deals damage to melee attackers. These functions of the armor become available again once the thorns regrow the following day.
