Denieran (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Denieran[edit]
Physical Description[edit]
Denierans appear human, however, they are dense and weigh more than they appear. They have large sharp blue eyes that provoke strong emotions in people and are considered beautiful even by elven standards. At birth, their hair is white and skin is jet-black. As they reach maturity, this switches and their hair becomes jet black and their skin turns a pale white.
History[edit]
It is said that denierns were first born when a human had a portal to the Astral Plane fold in on them as they were travelling through it, forever changing them. This accident was said to be caused by a god of chaotic alignment as punishment for defying the god.
After gaining their powers, many denierans have risen to prominence through using their wits and magical gifts to take them further in life. Although some denierans have become well off, the races numbers remain few due to head hunting and low fertility rates, possibly due to denieran's powers being inherited through bloodline, much like how the tiefling's powers are passed on.
Society[edit]
In general, denierans are a nomadic race that either seeks to find out the meaning behind their existence or looks to enhance their already great magical powers to further empower themselves. These nomads usually travel in small groups led by the eldest or most astute denieran within the group. It is not, however, uncommon for many younger denierans to leave on various quests of power, adventure, or self-discovery, only to rejoin this group later in life.
