Demon Eye Hunter (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
Demon Eye Hunter[edit]
Prestige Class
"Those who wield the blessing of the devil must walk a path of darkness unable to see what awaits for them"
Demon eye hunters are warriors who forfeit one of their eyes to graft themselves with the eye of a demon. After undergoing this profane and painful process, they become attune to the soul of that demon, and can see through its eyes and even conjure its power. With the demon eyes, these hunters can more easily track and defeat their enemies.
To be willing to undergo this process, one must hold a profound grudge and hate towards a creature - or group of creatures, enough to permanently deform its body and taint its soul in order to fulfill his vengeful and hateful desire.
Prerequisites[edit]
To qualify for multiclassing into the Demon Eye Hunter class, you must meet these prerequisites:
- Constitution and Wisdom 13 or higher. You need great willpower to withstand the demonic corruption, and endurance to withstand the pain from this process.
- Proficiency in the Survival and Perception skill. One must be attentive and perceptive as a hunter to benefit fully from the powers granted by this eye.
- Character level 5th. The hunter must be already skilled in the art of the hunt.
- Access to Extra Attack. Only great warriors are fit to thread the path of the demon eyed hunter.
- Graft the Demonic Eye. You must find someone capable of performing the profane surgery of grafting the eye of a demon onto you. If this creature does not have a imprisoned demon available, you must also capture a demon so you can steal its eye. The surgery take 8 hours, and upon ending you have 1 hit point, 0 hit dice and 5 levels of exhaustion.

Demon Eye[edit]
Starting at 1st level, you have been grafted with a demon eye, that grants you otherworldly powers. You have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks and attack rolls while in an area covered in sunlight, but gain darkvision up to a range of 60 feet.
You can activate the eyes using a Bonus Action. For 1 minute, the range of your darkvision doubles and you can also see inside magical darkness and you gain Advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Intelligence (Investigation checks).
Finally, while active, you can see objects and creatures up to a mile, as if they were within 100 feet. You can activate the eyes a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining uses after finishing a long rest.
Hunter's Sight[edit]
Also at 1st level, you have Advantage on Wisdom checks to track and on Intelligence checks to recall information about one creature type from the following: Beasts, Aberrations, Constructs, Giants, Humanoids (choose two subtypes), Oozes, Plants, Undeads, Monstrosities.
When your eyes are active, you have Advantage on attack rolls against your Favored Enemy. If your enemy is invisible or concealed by illusion or shapeshifting, you can clearly see it.
Demonic Speed[edit]
At 2nd level, your demonic eyesight makes your perception of the world slow down, which cause your movement to seemingly increase. You can take the Dash action using a bonus action.
In addition, when you take the Dash action while your eyes are active, your movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.
Precise Gaze[edit]
Also at 2nd level, you can use your Wisdom, rather than Strength or Dexterity for attack rolls, whenever your eyes are active.
Ability Score Improvement[edit]
When you reach 3rd level, and again at 7th, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Demonic Magic[edit]
At 4th level, you can draw power from the abyss to conjure magic while your eyes are active. You gain a number of demonic points equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1). You can spend a number of points equal to 1 + the level of the spell to cast the spell.
The chosen spell must be from the Warlock spell list, and its level can't be higher than half your proficiency bonus, rounded up. You regain all your Demonic Magic points when you finish a long rest.
If your Demon Eyes are active, you don't need to use any components to cast a spell, and the spell cost is reduced by 1.
Enemy Slayer[edit]
Also at 4th level, when you hit a favored enemy with an attack while your eyes are active, can spend demonic magic points up to your maximum, causing additional damage equal to 1d10, plus 1d10 per points spent.
Eyes of Truth[edit]
At 5th level, when you activate your eyes, you gain truesight up to a range of 120 feet.
Soul Bond[edit]
At 6th level, when your eyes are active, you can manifest a spectral demonic limb from the demon whose eyes you have grafted onto yourself. This limb appears superimposing over your own arm, and has the appearance of your choice. It is considered a simple melee weapon with the reach property that causes 2d8 damage (slashing, piercing or bludgeoning, choose one).
Attacks made with this limb are considered magical, for the purposes of overcoming resistances to nonmagical damage. You can make attacks with it using a Bonus Action on your turn, or as part of the Bonus Action used to activate the eyes.
Mind Breaker[edit]
At 8th level, when your eye is active, you can place your gaze upon your target, breaking its mind and will. Choose a creature you can see within 30 feet. The creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw, or take 8d8 psychic damage.
Once a creature fail the save against this feature, you are unable to do it again until you finish a long rest.
Demon Scorching[edit]
At 9th level, when you make an attack with a melee weapon or your demonic limb, you can lit that weapon on fire. On a hit, you cause additional 2d6 fire damage with the attack.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Demonic Hunter level, and regain your uses of it after completing a long rest.
Still Time[edit]
At 10th level, time seemingly stops when your eyes are activated, allowing you to act with supernatural speed. When you activate your Demonic Eye, you can either cast Haste on yourself or Slow as part of the same bonus action.
Once you do so, you can't do it again until you finish a long rest, unless you spend a use of your demon eye activation to do so again (spending 2 uses upon activation, rather than one).
