Demon Berserker (3.5e Prestige Class)
From D&D Wiki
Demon Berserker[edit]
The path for mortals to become like demons is a strange and horrible thing. Yet there are humans and other intelligent creatures that willingly subject their bodies, and their minds, to a life altering change to become one. These abominable entities are called Demon Berserkers, or Chaos Fiends(Sometimes confused as "Devil Fiends"). They are not very common, as only a formidable combatant can go through the rigors to physically change into an Outsider. But just because it is rare, doesn't mean it doesn't happen!
Becoming a Demon Berserker[edit]
Very rarely a mortal swears unswerving loyalty to a very powerful chaotic entity, usually a Demon Prince. These are the psychotic warriors of the most powerful demon princes.
The Barbarian would make the most sense. But a Fighter or Ranger would also be a good choice.
Spellcasting Demon Berserkers are completely unheard of.

Class Features[edit]
Demonic Frenzy: At 1st level the demon berserker can fly into a demonic frenzy, he gains a +6 bonus to Strength, and a +4 Bonus to Constitution, and a +2 Moral bonus to will saves, but he takes a -2 penalty to Armor Class. He also gains Spell Resistance equal to his HD + 5. While in a demonic frenzy if he makes a full attack action, he gains a single extra attack each round at his highest bonus. (This latter effect is not cumulative with Haste or other effects that grant additional attacks.) To end the demonic frenzy before its duration ends, the character may attempt a DC 20 Will save once per round as a free action. Success ends the demonic frenzy immediately; failures means it continues. The effects of demonic frenzy stack with those from any rage ability the character may have.
At 1st level, the character can enter a demonic frenzy twice per day. Thereafter, he gains one additional use per day of this ability for every three demonic berserker levels he acquires. The character can enter a demonic frenzy as a free action. Even though this takes no time, he can only do it during his turn, not in response to another's action. In addition, if he takes damage from any attack, spell, trap, or any other source, he automatically enters a demonic frenzy at the start of his next action, as long as his has at least one daily usage of the ability left. To avoid entering a demonic frenzy in response to a provoking effect, the character must make a successful Will save (DC 10+points of damage taken since his last action)at the start of his next turn. Demonic frenzy has all the normal limitations of the Barbarians Rage. During a demonic frenzy, the demon berserker must attack those he perceives as foes to the best of his ability. Should he run out of enemies before his demonic frenzy expires, his rampage continues. He must then attack the nearest creature and fight that opponent without regard to friendship, innocence, or health(the target's or his own). At the end of the demonic frenzy, the demon berserker loses the modifiers and restrictions and becomes exhuasted.
Attribute Increase: At 2nd level the demon berserker gets a +2 profane bonus to his Strength.
At 5th level he gets a +2 profane bonus to Constitution.
At 8th level he gets an additional +2 profane bonus to Strength.
Demonic Aura: At 3rd level the demon berserker begins to look like his demonic allies. He gains damage reduction 5/Good or Cold Iron. His skin becomes darker with a small red tint, and he grows small horns. His base land speed increases by 10.
Improved Frenzy At 5th level the demon berserker becomes fatigued at the end of his demonic frenzy(or rage if he has one) instead of exhausted.
Mark of Power: At 6th level the demon berserker's damage reduction increase to 10/Good. His skin becomes even darker. He also grows small vestigial wings.
Greater Frenzy At 7th level the demonic berserker no longer becomes fatigued at the end of his frenzy(or rage if he has one).
Demonic Embrace: At 10th level the demon berserker becomes a Demon, his creature type changes to Outsider and gains the Evil Subtype. His damage reduction increases to 15/Good, his Spell Resitance increases by 5, and he also gains Resistance to Acid 10, Cold 10, and Fire 10. He gains immunity to poison and also gains darkvision out to 60 feet. His base land speed increases by an additional 10. His horns grow to truly protrude from his forehead, his wings grow large enough to lift him off of the ground. He gains the ability to fly at his base land speed with Average Maneuverability.
Ex-Demonic Berserker[edit]
If the demon derserker ever becomes stops being Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic Evil or Neutral Evil, he loses all uses of the demonic frenzy ability. If he later becomes Chaotic Evil or Neutral Evil again, he immediately regains all uses of the demonic frenzy ability.
If the demon berserker ever disobeys an order given to him by his patron, he immediately loses all class abilities, including all bonuses. He must be brought to his patron and swear loyalty to regain these abilities. Although this is usually a problem do to the Chaotic nature of Demon Princes.
