Demidragons (5e Pantheon)
Beings of untold power with seemingly limitless potential. What does one do when they have everything in their hands? Why, they become bored of course. The Demidragons are less a group of gods, but nine individuals Gods. Each Demidragon has the ability to alter reality with seemingly no limitation with the only ones keeping them in check is the universes themselves. Demidragons are the result of the cross breading between a human, and a unique kind of dragon born beside every multiverse. There a total of nine Demidragons in total, each with their own personal domain and choice media. The oldest of the nine are Lucifer and Shade, the Demidragons of light and darkness respectively. Next is quadruplets: Flamel, Umi, Aaron, and Terran; Demidragons of fire, water, air, and earth respectively. After them came "The Twins." Neither possess a personal name as they are indistinguishable and inseparable, they are the Demidragons of life and death. Finally the Demidragon of lightning, Jason Rodriguez.
There is a great difference between light vs. dark, and good vs. evil. These forces are not the same, light is not good and dark is not evil, nor is it true vice versa. Each possess qualities that can draw both good and evil towards them. Lucifer is fair, equal, and guiding, seemingly perfect to most. They are also however, merciless, judging, and unwavering, a true angel. Shade is best compared to a doting mother; accepting, forgiving, and protective, but they can be too forgiving, naive, and even corruptible. These two oppose each other so greatly not because one is right while the other wrong, but because they can not agree on which is right. Because of this they are both Neutral in respect the Good or Evil, however Lucifer is Lawful while Shade is Chaotic. They are the oldest of the Demidragons with Shade being about 649 years older. Lucifer's domains are typically Light and War. Shade's domains are Life and Nature.
The four elements are the very foundation of our worlds, with each possessing its very own plane of existence. Each element is incredibly distinct yet work beautifully together. Flamel, the Demidragon of fire, is incredibly passionate and aggressive. They are the first to stand up for their friends, family, and ideals, and incredibly hot headed. Usually rushing in head first with no regard to what may lie ahead. They are also in something of a teasing, lustful, possibly dysfunctional relationship with Umi; and yes, they technically cousins with everyone else being disturbed by it. Umi is graceful and mischievous, having no problem stabbing a loved one in the back just to satisfy their own personal urges. They are definitely driven by their emotions, but prefer to take their time and play with their prey. Aaron is erratic and child like, with an added bonus of not truly grasping the concept of limitations. They are driven by neither reason or emotion, but by instinct and random whims. They are closer to a toddler with enough power to turn gods into playthings. Terran is stubborn and steadfast, always sticking by any decision they make whether or not it was the best option. Flamel leans towards Chaotic Good but can easily turn Evil if so pushed. Umi is closest to Lawful Evil with their more patient and depraved way of thinking. Aaron is the purest form of Chaotic Neutral, doing as they wish but with most Evil acts simply a byproduct of their childish nature. Terran is Lawful Neutral with their steadfast beliefs and refusal to bend the rules even if it's for the best. Their domains are as follows: Flamel- war, Umi- tempest and trickery, Aaron- tempest and nature, Terran- nature
The Twins. Completely indistinguishable, with some even arguing that they are in fact one Demidragon. Fitting, seeing as how Life cannot exist without Death and vice versa. Like light and dark, life and death are not good and evil, but interpretative. Every individual and group has a specific view on life and death; which can vary severely depending on experience. Life and death are both true neutral and share the domains of Life, Nature, and War.
Jason Rodriguez is the youngest Demidragon and the most pronounced. More likely than any other Demidragon to interfere with the affairs of the realms. His persistence has caused his image to become more concrete, and has lead to him becoming the face of the Demidragons; for good or for ill. He is easily bored and finds his entertainment through the actions of normal people. This can range from joining a village, to causing a global war. Typically he resigns himself to simply causing mischief as that causes less toys to be destroyed. His alignment is either Chaotic Neutral or Evil depending on his mood as well as the decision of the universe itself. His domains are tempest and trickery.
